would any of your computers be AMD? That might explain the problem of your motherboard being fried! my amd motherboard got fried too, and it kept on restarting until one day it didnt boot up at all now im using a p4 :)

well i have one inserted atm and it doesnt work it doesn't matter, debian mounts the usb automatically anyway

nah cause if im gonna install it, its gonna be a fresh install (no windows) from a formatted hdd so theres nothing to lose oh yeah: priv usb mount does nothing, bash: priv: command not found i dont think i need to mount it in the terminal as it mounts automatically

nah no windows, umm mac os x cant install on a partition, only a separate hdd, so no worries (as long as i dont format the wrong drive), but since its linux, (haha i dont know which drive is mounted where), i'll prolly will :-/

o yeah ubuntu comes with firefox 1.07 but i want it updated to 1.5 like for deb files its quite easy just paste it in the root directory and it comes up but for this im confused. What are u meant to do after you extract it?
