Why do you call yourself an Agnostic?

If you're going to worship someone based on the quality of poetry, I think you'll find Keats is infinitely more divine.

    Muslim People in Australia

That's silly reasoning. It's like saying you should never go in the shower in case you slip and fall.

    Islam Discussion

It irritates me that people can speak so assertively of something so ridiculously unfounded, unproven and untenable. If there is a God, chances are it is nothing like what you believe it to be. Indeed, if it is aware of our current state of affairs then it is probably either amused or annoyed...

Why are there no images aloud in NCAP?

I provided a reason, you failed to address it. Additionally, for your information, at law school they teach us how to think critically and argue with reason, instead of avoiding issues by making irrelevant and derogatory remarks.

    Cronulla Beach Incident

This article confirms that the assailants were of middle-eastern appearance, among a few other details.

Why are there no images aloud in NCAP?

    1. It would greatly encourage the posting of images, which would indubitably lead to spam. 2. You can still link to images.

Why are there no images aloud in NCAP?

I actually requested this ages ago, but I tend not to support the idea now. You don't need such distractions in that type of subforum and I think it would just increase spam.

The Muslim mind is on fire

There are a number of other active threads on Muslims and Islam so I'm closing this one. See: Muslim Headscarves Criticism of Islam Muslim people in Australia

Why do you call yourself an Agnostic?

No, because it depends upon what one means by God. I believe that we cannot know whether a God exists or not. But this does not stop me from arguing about its characteristics, should there be one. Yes it is. This is because there would be a logical contradiction based upon the material evidence...

want to get a new phone ...

I am waiting for the SE W900i to come out... it's supposed to be released roughly around 10th Decemeber. It is one of the best non-smart phones out there, except for the chunkyness -- http://www.mobile-review.com/review/sonyericsson-w900-en.shtml

Why do you call yourself an Agnostic?

Perhaps I do insult to Zeus and friends :) What I mean is that some conceptions of God are obviously prone to more logical flaws than others. For example we can probably rule out a God that is all knowing, all powerful and all good because the possession of such traits are inconsistent with...

Why do you call yourself an Agnostic?

I am glad you offer a piece of evidence to support your beliefs, but for me and many non-believers, a religious text such as that does not cut it. Why? Prove to me that the Qu'ran is true.

    Muslim headscarves

But they can if they so choose. That was the point.

Why do you call yourself an Agnostic?

If it is a test then the correct behaviour should be not to have the belief that God exists, for if God gave us brains then he or she surely intended for their proper use, and all evidence and reason is lacking in favour of such a belief.

    Noam Chomsky is stupid.

We really need some sort of duelling room with muskets and the like.

Why do you call yourself an Agnostic?

You can't do anything. But some people can't accept that. The only thing you can really do is rule out beliefs of certain religions through using your brain. For instance, beliefs in certain gods that seem silly -- like Zeus and the Olympian gods, or gods that are supposed to be all-knowing...

Why do you call yourself an Agnostic?

No, agnosticism is not about a belief in God -- it is about believing that there is a limit in our knowing whether there is a God or not. The "true sense" of the word comes from "a" (without) and "gnosis" (knowledge). Again, it is not really a metaphysical issue but an epistemological one...

Why do you call yourself an Agnostic?

Not really -- you can use evidence and reasoning from the material, observable world to identify those facts. Supposedly God is not observable.

Why do you call yourself an Agnostic?

It is a fair question, but I think I should point out that agnosticism is really about knowledge – or rather the limits of knowledge. We believe that we cannot know whether there is a God or not, so it is best to withhold judgment on the matter. It is not necessarily about the belief itself...

Save NCAP- a Spirituality and Theology Forum

Actually, they often do listen to each other. There have been legitimate attempts to respond to both sides of the argument. I would note, though, that in the history of this subforum the non-believers have put forward the most reasonable and logical arguments. That is not necessarily to say that...
