    Complex inequalities

In some subjects you can use pencil for diagrams, but not for maths. It'd say at the front if you could use pencil

    Integration challenge questions- help

These may be useful, see if you can work them out :) One of the questions (question 6 on page 2) is actually answered in the 2nd link http://www.maths.usyd.edu.au/u/UG/JM/MATH1903/r/t3solutions.pdf http://www.maths.usyd.edu.au/u/UG/JM/MATH1903/r/t6-05solutions.pdf

    HELP PLZ!! differentiating logs

yep. If i helps, replace ln3 by a letter like a.

    HELP PLZ!! differentiating logs

    Oh right sorry, read it wrong You can use quotient rule: d/dx ln3/lnx = (-ln3/x)/(lnx)2 = -ln3/x(lnx)2 Or you can use chain rule: d/dx ln3/lnx = d/dx ln3(lnx)-1 = -ln3(lnx)2/x = -ln3/x(lnx)2

    HELP PLZ!! differentiating logs

    Treat the ln3 as a constant, since it is. d/dx lnx/ln3 = 1/(xln3)

    tangent question

A tangent to the hyperbola y=1/(2x), x>0 cuts the y-axis at the point y=2. Find the gradient of this tangent. Things we know: Point on the tangent: (0,2) Gradient of tangent: m = -1/(2x12), where x1 is the point that the tangent cuts the hyperbola. Equation of tangent: y - 2 = m(x -...

    Induction

    Assume n = k is true k3 + (k + 1)3 + (k + 2)3 = 9M For n = k+1 (k + 1)3 + (k + 2)3 + (k + 3)3 = 9M - k3 + (k + 3)3 = 9M - k3 + k3 + 9k2 + 27k + 27 = 9M - 9k2 + 27k + 27 = 9(M - k2 + 3k + 3) = 9N
