    Chain Rule

    function of a function = chain rule. Its the same thing just different name: y = [f(x)]n Let u = f(x), du/dx = f'(x) y = [u]n dy/dx = dy/du . du/dx = n[u]n-1.f'(x) = n[f(x)]n-1.f'(x)

    The different sections of maths!

Unfortunately, when you get to uni you'll find that boring math can be quite hard and cool maths can be quite easy. You'll also find he is beyond a 4th year honours uni student :p But in general I do agree with Buchanan. That classification system is needed, its way too broad to simply place...

    Chain Rule

    Chain rule: If y = [f(x)]n then y' = [f(x)]n-1.f'(x) Example: y = [sinx + x]3 In this case, f(x) = sinx + x and f'(x) = cosx + 1 So y' = f(x)2.f'(x) = [sinx + x]2.(cosx+1)
