    Marking against merit

This only goes for English based subjects, such as the obvious (English Standard, Advanced, and Extensions), Histories, Studies of Religion, etc. Now that the HSC is over, and results are out, I, like many people have been doing a lot of reflection. Does anyone feel that sometimes they were...

What was your parents & family reaction to your UAI?

83.65 is fine. What do you need for your course?

ANY 1 thinkn of Getn der paper remarked!

I did fairly well, for me anyway. I was aiming for 85, and got 84.6. English Adv: 81 English Ext 1: 42 English Ext 2: 29 (sooooo wrong) Maths: 59 (but doesn't count, did the extra units because I always knew it wouldn't count) Chemistry: 76 Modern History: 81 Studies of Religion: 46 History Ext: 42

    Post your 2006 UAI here!

You're a wanker. If you get a UAI above/at the cutoff, you get an offer.

ANY 1 thinkn of Getn der paper remarked!

I'm thinking of getting one for Extension English 2, I got an extremely low mark for it. I was shocked to say the least when I saw it :/

    Pathways Peopleeeee!

Pathways sucked. It took so bloody long :/ But in saying that, good luck :) I think it makes you do a lot better in the long run. And try to do 12 units, instead of 10. Gives more room for failing stuff :)

    Post your 2006 UAI here!

Actually, you're wrong. People always get in slightly below the cutoff, happens every year :)

Post your 2006 HSC results here!

Not as well as I'd hoped :( Still, JUAI and SAM gave me enough by a little over a point each (little higher on JUAI) so hopefully I'll still get into what I want :/

    Who doesn't want their results?

Last year I went on to get my English and Maths results, and was horrified when they came out early. I signed onto BoS so I'd be ready when they came, and they were there :/ I might sleep in this year :/

Re: First question's quote: ho-hum? Okay, say 'useable truths' represents relativism. It does not represent empiricism. And, I agree with the other person, everyone has taken the 'history is a science' out of context. Blah.

Re: First question's quote: ho-hum? LOL. I think you're the one who's stuffed. I hope you didn't use netspeak in your essay :)

    Section 2

Re: Fish? She sort of said it was 'almost a science' and a way to find multiple, 'useable truths' - the 's' makes her post modernist. Look at Elton, Ranke and Windshuttle. All empiricists, all believe that through the correct methodologies one, absolute truth can be found. Basically...
