Re: First question's quote: ho-hum? Myth making is a stab at relativists - namely Herodotus and Irving. Post modernists don't make up stuff :P

Re: First question's quote: ho-hum? I studied Clendinnen. I *know* she's a post modernist. She said there were 'usable truths' - the empiricist belives there is one, absolute truth.

Re: First question's quote: ho-hum? I wouldn't call her Marxist :/ She doesn't have an 'elitist' style either, most historians show their views like that. And I fail to see how elitism has anything to do with empiricism, unless you're talking specifically about Elton, but that's just silly...

Re: wow, possibly the easiest thing ive done I knew Clendinnen was a post modernist, and was going to use her in the essay anyway, I wasn't surprised they used her for the source. I quoted her outside the source as well, from The Boyer Lectures.

I second that motion. The exam was NOT easy. My hand almost died, and...! apart from WWI, India, and the first personality question that was an awful exam. And India was still a bit hard.

So what did everyone think of it??

So what did everyone think of it??

I think the Indochina Tet question was really hard, I know Tet well but from an American perspective, not a North Vietnam perspective. And the second personality question didn't suit Jinnah very well. Or maybe I just didn't know enough historians. It seems like a history extension question in a...
