it's not as easy obviously
you have to be that good to get in :burn:
for the course i applied to they had 500 or more non current school leavers going for a measly 10 non current school leaver positions :( ppl from tafe, other unis like mine (uws) other unis like unsw etc
I second this :)
that's why im trying out for UTS design AGAIN for the second time since i got rejected like many other UWS vis commers :( :(grrrrr:burn: :burn: (I'm not the only one either, i saw so many fellow UWS vis commers at the interview day for UTS)
it's so hard to transfer dammit!
well i'm hopin to transfer from UWS to UTS Design in Visual communication and then sub major in advertising and get into the 'creative side' of advertising :D the fun side.
UTS is most famous for their design and communications degree and their faculty ranked 29th in the world according to the Times higher education.
That's why their cut-offs are freakin high for a creative arts course.:burn: :burn: :burn: :burn: :burn:
im at UWS at the moment doing vis comm and hoping for a transfer into UTS vis comm for they have an excellent reputation etc :(
its fuckin hard though... they pick like 10 ppl out of 500 or so applicants :burn: :burn: :burn: :burn: :burn: :burn: which says alot for where is the place for design...
Now now let’s not get sidetracked.
This discussion went off track since netstar’s random post on saying that how we should go to private schools/tafe for design in a transfer discussion thread.
I like what hellomike said about private design schools and simplycat agreed to that like I do.
I...
I don't know what is there to argue about this honestly.
There are other options besides universities but why would any major multi national agencies pick a 2yr private school grad over those who studied hard to get the UAI and is also creative/talented? (The reality is outlined by DIA as well...
well everyone has a possiblity of getting a transfer, except that its EXTREMELY competitive.
You have the ones coming in with the high UAIs from high school and then many others from private schools etc
Also your peers at UWS all trying it out when there are only 10~15 non current school leaver...
sigh*
for those who missed out, try again.
when i went to the DAB open day, the lecturer said they had applicants who tried 5 times:burn: and got in after 5th year of attempting .
im serious about design so i want to go to a reputable uni.
hopefully i wont be in the 5 attempts boat lol
