how many writing books/folders are you gonna get?

Probably just a single lecture pad for the first day. Taking several folders to uni will probably get a bit annoying, it's loads easier just to rip the pages out and file them when you get home. It IS a good idea to have a folder for each subject, but leave them at home. I end up sorting through...

Mother Flushes Baby Down the Toilet

I heard a story on the news once where a pregnant woman woke up, couldn't move, and, upon closer inspection, found that her baby was halfway out and she hadn't gone into labour or felt it or anything. Still, the situation's not very likely at all, and it was a crime to conceal that she had...

    Review With Myles Barlow

I agree that the idea to review a concept in that way is totally new, and I've never seen that before. It's just that he didn't bring anything new to the table in terms of what he's saying about things. Then again, I only watched one episode and others may have been different (better). And...

What cars is/was everyone on their L's

looks like a fair few people here had camrys. I guess they're pretty good cars to learn on, not too high powered but are big enough that you get some proper road sense.

    Review With Myles Barlow

I'm going to go against the grain here... I watched an episode and while I was creepily drawn into it, I thought it was a bit tacky and like, obvious :( It's not like his ideas are paricularly original... but still, kudos to him for having the guts to act like a total creep on TV. It sucks...

What cars is/was everyone on their L's

usually toyota camry with mumsie, a corolla ascent with the driving instructor (I like that one better...) on occasion mum's camry sportivo, which is a like driving from your loungeroom and I tend to accidentally speed. on occasion a land cruiser. I hate that cause it's so big. the gears...

    JAPANESE Tutor fees/rates

Re: Tutor fees/rates $60 is a lot for tutoring, only the best should really charge that. You'll be wanting to get a damn good tutor for such a high rate, who gets you stacks of resources and marks practise papers for you as well as doing the speaking/writing practise with you.

    BMI question

most websites on BMI do actually state: "This is an indication of your healthy weight range only, for further advice see a physician. BMI is not indicative for elite athletes, body builders, people under 18.... yadayada" It's not like they're trying to say it is absolute truth.

Hey, I'm just finishing my first year of speech path, and basically the below is spot on. There are a lot of different areas you can work in, you can do private practise, work in a hopsital, work in a community health centre etc, you can travel to basically any english speaking country...

    Ranking issues

It doesn't even matter. Seriously don't worry about it. it will be like, .1 of a mark if anything when it comes to calculating your UAI. And basically, as long as you get the required UAI for your course then you are sweet, so it's doubtful that this discrepancy will make any difference to you.

    Whats so gud abt SkOOLies?

lol bitter about still being underaged, much? All your friends are already 18 (most people are by the time they graduate) and you're the young'un, I bet. It's awesome if you don't want to screw around for a week with your mates, you could have a holiday which is tamer than schoolies. But if...

Have you decided on your community service?

Volunteering in an op shop is a lot of fun + socialising. It's not all that hard, and they'll train you. Also gives you retail experience for later when you want a job. some othe ideas... soup kitchen, nursing homes, etc. if you also want to socialise with the other staff/people.

    Masterplan for UNCLE

I think I said the thalamus, and I think i was wrong. Oh well. I figured I'd have to get less that 35% on the exam to actually fail psyc, so that's okay. that's a shame about the due date thing, but 31 is still fairly good. But you usually do really really well, hey.
