1. Find equation of tangent at P (i.e. line PM)
2. Find the equation of SM (which is perpendicular to PM) using point gradient formula passing thru S (0, a)
3. Solve (1) and (2) simulaneously to find the coordinates of M

haha no worries i was just bored (not of studies lol but had some time with nothing to do here in my internship at law firm) so i decided to go on bos to check out discussion in the aftermath of the hsc results haha
and i just added ppl on the 'recent visitors' list of my profile lol
anyways...
ahaha wow congratz and nahhh actually.... YOU BEAT ME IN 4U !
Good on ya! =D
soon to be THGS dux of 2011 ahaha =]
see if your grade can get even better than 89th lol..
btw what do u wanna do at uni?
its really hard tho and like the comments above its easier to transfer from same uni... you still need at least 97+ (more like 98+) ATAR and Distinction to HD average to make it.... tho i do know quite a number of ppl who transferred into usyd law successfully after 1st year =]
It just means if you draw a line that passes through S (lets call this line A) that is perpendicular to the tangent at P (Line B), M is basically the intersection of Lines A and B. =]
well if the place at UOW is guaranteed already, and you get $3000, i'd say go for it (im assuming you live close to there?) and then after first year you can always transfer to UTS or another uni! =]
lol cools its a nice course! perhaps see you at uni next year then haha =]
i'm doing an internship in a law firm in hk atm and some times i didnt have much to do so decided to go on bored of studies which i havent been on in a long time haha... its fun seeing the next bunch of hsc graduates get...
yehh it depends on how much money each faculty has lol
arts are very stingy, law doesnt offer any at all.... i do a combined law/international studies degree and so i had to apply under arts faculty, and i didnt get one... but i know of many friends doing com/law who achieved similar hsc...
ANU being the top ranked uni in australia and having close proximity to national capital resources, i think it would be the better option in the long run, even just for undergrad, even if it means moving out etc... especially considering you have a scholarship! =D
congratz btw! =]
lol ok i changed it to make it a bit less pretentious hahaha got rid of the bold blue state ranking thing and just put it in brackets in my list of marks haha
but hey we're usyd law students remember? which apparently is synonymous with being pretentious haha =P
WOOOO yes indeed and yay another hills person finally =]
we were 105th in '08 but yeh we all knew last year was epic fail lol
who are you btw far out im wondering now haha =.=
i should know you ahhhhhhhh!
but yeh so happy we made it into top 100! go class of 2010! =]
LOL nahh its mainly this post making outrageous claims that all of us felt had to be rebutted:
Completing the HSC is definitely NOT an achievement. I totally agree with Chromatic, NewiJapper and b00m! great reply guys! =] but yeh, getting such marks means one failed one's hsc in terms of...
