Do whatever you feel gives you the ability to write the best response you can. I always stick to one related text unless they specifically ask for two. You will get people who say "ONE or more actually means do TWO or else!!!" - that is rubbish. "ONE or more" means exactly what it says; it's not...
0 creatives but a character prepared to build a story around; I'm actually hopeless at creative writing. One related text for Belonging and two for History and Memory (Mod. C), although I'm only pre-prepared to write on one.
The thing with techniques is that they are mostly void if they don't contribute to your thesis/ideas and overall answering of the question. I got fairly good trial essay marks (16upwards/20) in my two papers however one of the teachers commented "I would like to see more development of your...
As You Like It - only in class
Frankenstein - once; really liked it actually
Blade Runner - twice
Harwood poems - obvioulsly many times
50th Gate - 0 complete times; absolutely woeful text. I got half way through and decided to just make notes based on detailed chapter summaries
Although it's one of my "better" subjects, I feel a similar way. Once the two papers are finished next week I'll feel fair less pressured; although I do have the Ext.1 paper to do as well, it's not as difficult.
The belonging creative could possibly be about technology (my trial was), but certainly not the essay. For example, how on earth would one write any kind of substantial piece on technology in Shakespeare's As You Like It?
I prefer to write from scratch. This scares some people, but if you understand your texts and relevant concepts you have more freedom in answering the question without the pain of moulding some memorised piece. I find that memorised pieces put me more at risk of drifting away from the question...
Not necessarily two "or suffer." It's like when they ask for "at least ONE other related text of your own choosing." In both cases it means that you have to have an in-depth understanding of one RT; otherwise, add a second one and balance them both with your set text.
What? You don't need related texts for all the modules. Correct me if I'm wrong but you need an RT for Area of Study (Belonging) and 1-2 RTs for Module C. Modules A and B don't require RTs.
I'm struggling a bit, but I've achieved more than I thought I would. Try to nail down some notes on the subject you like most; that will give you some momentum. For me, I started with Modern History - I love it and it got me into the study "mood" or "vibe" because I don't find it in any way...
Never thought I'd be joining the club and asking for this, but I couldn't help myself!
According to "bettereducation" my school's most recent rank is in the 300s. However in 2010 it was in the early 200s. So yeah, rather inconsistent and last year's group was quite bad, in case you couldn't...
