sketch a function with f'(x)>0 for x<2, f'(2)=0 and f'(x)<0 when x>2
so i know what the sketch looks like as seen from the answers, but i do not know why it's like that.
can someone please explain to me how to interpret questions like these? please!
i don't understand these types of...
a) find the equation of the focal chord through Q
the parabola is x^2= 4ay, the focus is (0,1) and Q is (2aq, aq^2)
also,
b) prove that the latus rectum is 4a
please answer :) i'm so desperate
find the length of the focal chord that meets the parabola at (2, -1/3)
-the equation of the parabola is x^2=-12y
-the directrix is y=3
please show the working out of this as well as the answer!
i have tried doing this question many times but failed!
