I don't mind people asking questions in lectures. It breaks the monotony of hearing someone drone on and on for an hour, especially if they read off the Powerpoint slides. Though I have yet to encounter a lecture where a student asks a barrage of questions that do hold it up.
To me, the major advantage of living on campus is that transport costs are almost nonexistent. All that extra money you save from not having to take the bus/train or not having to fill up for petrol/renew license or rego. Plus as people say, you get to enjoy life on uni, can wake up at 8:45 and...
Could be a QUT thing but wears the First Year shirt at the first opportunity, along with any associated pub crawl/O-Week shirt even after the said events. I plead guilty there.
Slightly off topic, though given that we were talking about goon and Passion pop for a while back, I plead innocent on this.
I met PyroTeK at Toowong today. It was a little awkward at first because even though he was the only one handling the pacakges of meat. I felt I had to act quickly...
Went to the Toowong Woolworths yesterday to see a fellow BoSer but didn't find him, though I do hope the renovations fix that store up. I thought I saw a bad store in Darwin, but wow, Toowong looks like the place could collapse if I sneezed at the wall. I was in the store around 3:50 as I...
Does working on the smokes counter require seperate training, or does one need to be a supervisor? Judging by the posts, the answer is yes, which is strange because where I worked, anyone could do it. It only stopped for awhile because everyone got shortages of $200+.
I don't mind Woolies Radio, except they play ABBA and the worst songs of ABBA. Sooo sick of hearing Dancing Queen, that CHICHCICHICHIIICHAAAAAA and that I DO! I DO I DO I DOOOO! being blasted during a quiet stretch. I find the second the worst because you think it's over...but then it starts again.
Goon is horrible, even when drunk. Goon is nothing like wine, as goon is almost rotten grapes, whereas wine takes time to ferment. While the wine is fermenting in places in Australia and around the world, a Woolworths employee in Queensland is having difficulty with his transfer. He has...
Someone mentioned about how if asks how you've been, the answer shouldn't be a long winded explanation of the day for them. I understand that it's all part of the small talk, however is it ok to branch out in certain circumstances?
Like for example, whenever the store is quiet and I'm waiting...
Can't post too much as I'm on the move, but uni can be the best years of your life. You may be flat broke for awhile, but you'll do it in style. Without uni, I would probably be at a dead end job for life. O-Week alone is a substitute for schoolies if you live it up. More on this and more later...
Woolworths Home Brand has been updated with the new logo. Significant change is the loss of the Home Brand circle. The 08 logo is a faded red. Overall a good new look.
Who has the discretion to post employees according to their transfer preferences?
Essentially, I'm sweating on getting into this particular Woolworths. 5 minutes walking, closes at 9 at night, small so I'm not going to be doing ungodly hours. The other candidates are about 2km away and I'm not...
It's the imageshack thumbnail, kinda hard to compare when it's 1/8th the size lol. Though why do you blur the system information? Aren't all the Woolworths computers running off the intranet and completely shut off from the outside world?
I had my ID photos taken after an hour's sleep on the plane and it was a sticky morning at QUT. My student ID photo reminds me of a mugshot of some deranged killer finally caught and my Urban Village photo makes my head proportional to my ego. I only wanted to get in early so I don't have...
Of course raise the drinking age! Because enforcing the licenses which include conditions such as not selling it to minors and already drunk people belongs in the too hard basket. When I did the RSA course, I was amazed how unethical some license holders are. Some were just getting people...
There's 90% chance I'm going to have to (grudgingly) defer my HECS until at least the middle of the year. I prefer to pay up front because it's the one thing from uni I don't want to hang around long after the graduation. Earning $15.47 and still making the money to pay HECS upfront is a little...
Does Woolworths regularly buy out smaller supermarkets and convert them into their own? Because one of my transfer candidates was nothing like the uniform Woolworths design I've been accustomed to. It had the 2010 aisle signage, but the 10 registers were red and green and there was none of...
What is it about supermarkets that is such an aphrodisiac? The amount of PDA I see both from the registers and just from wandering the store makes me scratch my head. People buy goods there, people excrete themselves all over the floors and people who got deluded into grandeur threw their lives...
