Well if u do it without the limits, then after u do the sub u cannot just use a dummy variable to change the integral from in terms of u back to in terms of x. Thus when u integrate by parts the first integral u can't just cancel out the integrals cos one of them is in terms of u and the other...
the differentiation calculator says it's not, I think this is one of those integrals where u have to rely on the bounds being a certain way to properly solve it.
first note 1+x+x^9+x^10 = (1+x)(1+x^9)
then we split the integrand into x^2ln[(1+x)(1+x^9)]/(1+x^3) = x^2(ln(1+x) + ln(1+x^9))/(1+x^3)
now we split the integrals up so we have integral from 1 to 0 of x^2ln(1+x)/(1+x^3) + integral from 1 to 0 of x^2ln(1+x^9)/(1+x^3)
Then we do a u =x^3 for the...
I agree that the questions are easier for physics in general but for good students I feel it is typically easier to get higher in a maths x2/x1 paper than a physics paper due to specific aspects of the marking criteria that can be easy to miss amongst other things (given the papers have...
Thanks! I was asking about time management because my time-management isn't very good since I get distracted a lot by external factors such as social media and youtube.
Over the past few yrs, it's been around high 30s - low 40s chem b6s, 60-70 ext 1 b6s, high 20s -low 30s ext 2 b6s, ~30 physics b6s and typically around mid 40s english advanced b6s
Hi all, can I please have an Atar prediction (and also some advice on how to best organise my time from now to hsc since my time-management is rlly poor)
I go to a top 10 school
Chem-5/83
English Advanced- 21/134
Maths ext 1 - 3/98
Maths ext 2 - 1/50
Physics - 2/73
Tryna go for state rank...
errrr since it's given that Sn = 0 if n is a multiple of 3, gp isn't needed. instead u can do w+w^2+...+w^3k + w^(3k+1) = 0 + w^(3k+1) = w and then do the same thing when sum is to 3k+2
it worked well for me in maths but idk about subjects that are more memorisation heavy such as eco or business. I feel like u might tend to forget quite a lot of the content that you've learnt.
