i actually got into a go8 uni......seriously....their not that spesh.
and considering you only reiterated a previously stated point, and then latched onto my own opinion of you to argue against rather than a valid argument, shows that you having nothing more to argue, as you know your wrong...
How are the go8 pretty obviously 'the best' in australia? Because they say so? You really are the ultimate product of a uni's ability to self promote.
I do value the things you state, such as being academically challenging, quality of facilities, high level of teaching staff ability...
i can concede that some uni's are pretty poor in both teaching and research output (acu, vic uni to name some) but to pigeon hole all uni's that arent part of a back slapping lobby group like the go8 as shitehouse then that is just plain ignorance.
its even worse when he/she acts all high and...
All for it. Stem cells =/= life. In fact, stem cells have the ability to prolong life, and overall increase the standard of living. It would be unethical to stop research into this very important science.
depends more on the job they are going for, relevant work experience and good list of references. tbh an employer will treat experience as a larger factor than of you have a masters/bachelor and what uni you went to.
and, correct me if i'm wrong, but i thought most masters degrees (like...
go for the subject outlines. their normally given to you in your first lecture. anycourse guides (like an undergrad handbook online) are too vague and only give you 'learning outcomes' and what the subjects teach you rather than specifics (ie you will study topic x based on book y page z)
A uni will ask why you did so bad, but as you were only there for a semester most will be happy to take you on you year 12 score as its more indicative of your ability level than 1 semester of uni. As your a non-yr 12 applicant you can back this up with a statement on your form.
Life post high school changed quite a bit for me.
-Harder to organise going out, and where you go is a pub/club rather than the good old house party.
-In high school you worked for extra cash, in uni you work to survive.
-You lose regular contact with many mates from school as everyone is...
Re: Israel & Palestine
Did anyone see the 60 minutes report tonight on the west bank. Very interesting, even though it appeared to be a little biased and basically had the 'israel are evil' tagline associated with the story it was good to see something that showed that palestine point of view...
take the weed and either
a) put the weed in a normal smoke and replace the filter with a roach. its called a secret agent. just make sure you smoke down wind :)
b) give every one else a hit and theyll soon learn the wonders of the devils lettuce.
to all the schoolies going this year, take the...
melbourne was known for its arts and humanities quality of teaching but, as another forumer stated, melb are all about budget and staff cuts. Perfect example is their downsizing of the vca (even though that doesnt have much effect on the BA course) which shows that melb are all about the bottom...
In further years of civil you start incorporating more live load calcs into design, so trying to connect a structures deformation and load capabilities to the movement of feet, or wind into a bridge, or a plane into a building (which the twin towers were actually designed with this in...
i dont want to name names, or what school he/she was from, but i originally emailed someone (cant remember) and they passed me onto the chief admissions officer for the school. they rang me and i organised a meeting. I went into their office and chatted for like 15 min about my situation, why i...
i am, for eng/law. currently doing eng at rmit but would love to pick up law. I'm pretty sure my chances are zero to none though. my enter was 87.1, and did 1st year science there (wanting to do eng) after a year i got excluded from the faculty for poor marks (had no interest in the course/tough...
looking at the melbourne jd course timetable, there doesnt seem to be much room to work (your there mon - thurs 10:30->4:30) with no option of night classes. So if you wanted to continue working in your chosen career for the time being (not at a call centre/maccas) its a bad choice. I guess this...
