I'm actually far more motivated by good marks. If you keep getting top marks you also set a benchmark for yourself and get extremely upset when you fall below it. When I'm extremely disappointed, I start giving up and questioning whether all the work is really worth it. Hopefully that never happens.

My marks were: Biology- so far I only got multiple choice back. I got 17/20 which I know isn't too bad but considering that a large portion of the grade got 18 and above, I'm quite disappointed. Physics- 39/55- I expected much worse. I guess 70% isn't too bad.

The seriousness of year 12 was kind of overrated for me. I was brought up to think the HSC meant everything which it isn't. Since I'm in year 12 now, I've come to realise that yes, your ATAR is important and so are studies but it's not what should be taking up the majority of your life.
