The reason being that your UAI and course marks are needed to transfer to a degree that has a higher UAI requirement than what you're doing now.

Go to USYD then. You'll get used to travelling times anyway and on top of that, if possible later on when you get older, you could always move out. I know friends who live in blacktown who spend the same amount of time travelling that difference to UNSW and they're just used to it.

I havent been on exchange myself (dont plan to, already lived overseas and all that) but from what my friends say, the university will cover you to a certain point mostly in regards to your tuition and stuff but you'll be the one who has to come up with the money for most of your living expenses...

Major in either accounting or finance. I'd say accounting as its the most useful major in terms of getting employed. Finance wouldn't be a bad choice either if you wanted to complement your engineering major.
