Do we actually have to do floating pointin the Exam?

Yes. I will even do it for you because I am bored :) This is a particularly tricky one =S The best way I can think to do it is as follows: 11111101 = -00000011 = -3 00001111 = 15 Performing this multiplication in binary is hell.. So I suggest changing it to 3 x -15 ie 00000011 x 11110001 or...

Do we actually have to do floating pointin the Exam?

Well if you are talking about floating point, the first bit is the sign. As you said positive = 0, negative = 1. This is the same for two's complement. Sorry, I'm not quite sure what you mean. Please be more specific as to what you mean by 'binary' if I haven't answered your question.

    crapping urself?

The hsc course is pretty small in the amount you actually have to memorise. If you concentrated and did any study throughout the year you would have all the basic concepts and a good understanding. There is little to memorise.

    2003 HSC Multiple Choice

It is interesting how little people understand relativity. Ok I will clear this up for the LAST time. -_- This is very simple. 1. The astronaut is the observer. According to his frame of reference, the earth has moved at 0.8c in the other direction. Applying the time dilation formula results...

    Well, you've lost me :) Ah, I just noticed hsc 2010 :P

    Algorithms??

This was asked earlier. It is best if you could write one up in an exam. You should at least be able to destiguish between the three sorts and be able to write up the two searches.

    Urgent Help!!!-cloud Chamber

Yeah it worked for us. No idea how it was set up. Umm, a petri dish I think with steam in it? I dunno we weren't allowed to go near it and the teacher set it up beforehand. Just had it set up with a camera on it and the zoomed image on a projector. I suggest you JFGI.

Ahh right. Hold on. Just to clarify you are asking what each person involved in the software design process does? Ie systems analyst, programmer project leader etc? If so; this is mainly found in the preliminary course. Yes I have been studying SDD and Physics for the last week. (More focus on...

Ahh wow =S Sorry about that :( That makes more sense though to be honest...

    2003 HSC Multiple Choice

I think you have misunderstood what they mean by the word "when". http://www.phys.unsw.edu.au/~jw/FAQ.html

    2003 HSC Multiple Choice

I don't think so. That is just being overly pedantic..

    Do you enjoy doing SDD?

lol! I love Software, so this question was really hard. Dota = life... So it was software or life. I chose software.. What is wrong with me??

    2003 HSC Multiple Choice

The actual calculated answer is not there because the time for the light to travel is not factored in.

    2003 HSC Multiple Choice

Yeah this question was screwed up and was excluded. Think about relativity. How does the astronaut see the clock? Anyway, assuming he could somehow see the time on the clock instantly ignoring the fact that light travels. According to the astronaut, earth has gone at 0.8c in the other...

    Urgent! Space II Help!

    Ok, here we go =S 1) v = root[2GM/r] v(X) = root[2G(8M)/2r] v(Y) = root[2GM/r] cancelling out constants: v(X) = root(8/2) v(Y) = root(1) X = 2x larger escape velocity than Y 2a) Vertical: s = 20 u = 0 a = 9.8 t = ? s = ut + 1/2(at^2) 20 = 1/2(9.8*t^2) t^2 = 4.0816326... t = 2.02 seconds...

From the syllabus: That question is directly testing a "students learn to:" dot point: As you have said, you understand what each one does, I assume it would be in all textbooks? From Davis textbook: In terms of your actual question you could just compare each of these. For example when...

Do we actually have to do floating pointin the Exam?

Well, I have no idea about whether they are in past papers. Simply because I am too lazy to do SDD past papers. However, I will try and remember/teach how to do this easily :) Decimal to floating point Ok, lets take the decimal 564.725 First, we work to the left of the decimal place; 564 =...

Yeah don't take that figure as bible. I read it somewhere, but it could be complete bs :)

    crapping urself?

to get around 75 in physics isn't too hard, you have 2 days left - more than enough to study for that kind of a mark. Physics marks to study is a sort of log graph, a little bit does a lot compared to nothing, but to get into the high mark range needs a lot of hard work. =S

Do any other girls do Software Design and Development?

Wow... at our school if a subject has less than about 5 people they just don't offer it =S Consider yourself lucky? (assuming you are that 1 girl :P)
