I currently use Avira Anti Virus and its bloody great! I switched from AVG as AVG wasn't picking up any virus what so ever, and when it did it targeted my itunes and wouldn't allow me to use it. It was a bug and so I got rid of it. Never made a better software choice :)

Have you tried upgrading Bittorrent? I know theres a newer version so maybe give that a shot. Also maybe try updating the trackers by right clicking > update tracker. Otherwise maybe a reinstall is an option. Hope this helps
