how long are you at school?

Everyday I'm around at school from 8am to 4pm. This sucks as school lessons don't start til 9:15am and end at 3:20 but my Dad's a teacher so I gotta wait around for him and get there early for staff meetings. On Mondays I'm at school til 4:45 as my little sister has a sports thing at school and...

    How was your school day?

Hey. We got our reports today which is always fun... *grimace* Not great. We, unfortunately, don't get told our ranks but all my marks ranged from 83-89% which is alright but I was bummed I didn't get any in the 90s. We don't always get what we want though, hey? But it is not what I need...

    Hatshepsut discussion

Re: The burning question. Fair enough. I guess we will probably never get a definitive answer, hey? A bit unfortunate, really. *blushes* Yeah. I probably should have thought about my questions before writing them, hey? Oh well, thanks for clarifying That's very true - I've never really...

Most annoying book of all time

Yeah - we had to read it in year 7 and I was at the movies the other day and saw the preview. I could not believe my eyes and the sad thing was I could guess what the book was by the first, like, 10 seconds of the preview! grr... teachers need to learn how to pick better books to study!

Most annoying book of all time

Damn our school as well then! We did both of them. Fun, fun, fun!!! Gotta agree about My Place being worse - gosh, I usually read books many times (read Pride & Prejudice about 9 times so far) but the third time I read it I got soooo bored, and that rarely happens. My Place annoys me and I can't...

    Favourite Historical books?

Alrighty then... In answer to your question I do. I am absolutely fascinated by religion in general so that got me reading history books in relation to that, and since I started doing Ancient and Modern in Yr11 I started reading much more of that type of book. I try and research for assessments...

    Hatshepsut discussion

Re: The burning question. Just wondering, why did he wait about 20 years after her death before getting them defaced, then? And also, didn't a fair few pharaohs deface the images of previous pharaohs to make themselves look better as well? It just seems weird that he would destroy some...

Emma/Clueless <-- OMGAHD SO FRKN BORING!!!!

I've just started that module and I don't mind it all. I'm just strange but I quite like Austen's books and had already read Emma. I've read it 3 times since we started the topic 4 weeks ago - it's great. I also grabbed Sparknotes and some summaries off some other thread and used them. I advise...

    Easiest subject

I know it differs depending on the person but, for me, the easiest subject I do is Studies of Religion I. Very nice! Ancient and Modern History come fairly easy for me too, thankfully. Maths used to be easy until this year!

    What's Your Common Room like?

Our Year 12 is only 22 people. We get a lovely small classroom complete with whiteboard, desks, chairs and maths pictures! Lucky us. We can use it during breaks but not at any other time. We do our study periods in the library and it is a pain as year 6 classes can kick you off the computer if...

    Anyone love childrens picture books?

Seriously... I love kid's books. My sister is in Year 2 so I have a great excuse to read them all the time. Sometimes when I don't have much work to do in my study periods I just lay down in the library and look through some kids books. There are many great ones but my favourite has to be Graeme...

Is your best subject your favourite also?

At the moment I'm loving Modern History. It's fantastic. I love reading so much but am not particularly keen on English because I enjoy books a lot but am not particularly enjoying analysing every single bit and finding techniques - what a surprise.
