I have not seen student toilets in EK at Parramatta? Generally, the toilets at Parra are appalling. But, to be fair, the toilets in Building 22 (Law School) at Campbelltown, I have so far found to be OK...

    Arrested by AFP

I concur. Consider also that the AFP will often proceed via summons, and/or will often seek an arrest warrant, rather than exercise their "traditional" power to arrest on suspicion without a warrant.

    Arrested by AFP

< shrug > I do not claim to be black-letter right. Nor do I say that you are in any respect black-letter wrong. But do, please, consider the possibility that I know stuff that you don't.

    Arrested by AFP

Look at what said. I did not say "the law does not require..." I said that it generally didn't happen. By which I mean IRL and regardless of what the law requires. And the OP hasn't exactly answered the original questions...

    Arrested by AFP

    1. If you got arrested and charged then you (mostly) go to court. 2. What did you do that the Feds arrested you, rather than NSWP? (I am assuming that you were arrested by FAs and not by ACT uniformed police) 3. If you were in law "arrested", then clearly you got bail, so what is your...

    Plagiarism?

What do your University, Faculty and Unit/subject-specific policies say? You need to do what those documents say, regardless of what you may see around you. Where plagiarism and undergrads are concerned, literal compliance is your only option... you may find that the academics may place...

    parking permit

Well, at Parramatta, not as of last Friday. Me and about 12 other cars were parked-in by thoughtless fools at lunchtime. Me and three others were prevented from leaving for approx 30 minutes before one of them came back to her car. She was left in no doubt at all that what she had done was a Bad...

    Are JDs well regarded?

Agree in part. In the US, although typically (but not exclusively) the JD is done after an earlier Bachelors degree, it is more in the ballpark of the Aussie double-degree - more like the second degree on your BA/BEc/BSc LLB combo than it is like an traditional LLM or above... even if Monash...

    Are JDs well regarded?

Well if it's good enough for the admisison board, then it's good enough... OTOH, if you are asking if it's got cred/prestige/whatever, then it's a bit early to tell (JDs are only new-ish...) And you do know that a JD is a Bachelors-equiv degree, right? It's not the same as an LLD... and even...

MEMO: All staff in all convenience stores Please, do not feel obliged to attempt to show me through your attitude, or tone of voice, or body language, or the way you stare at the body of the woman in the queue behind me, or the way you make a deep sigh as you serve me, or from the...

What are some useful things to know before starting law?

This is totally true. I once heard a wise man say that the reason student politics is such a dog-fight is because the stakes are so incredibly low.

    Hmm evening classes?

Sometimes, online enrolment is not available for a particular unit, or for a particular timeslot. Contact the Student Centre and see what's what with your particular unit. edit: spelling

    Need good intro law book

Not usually.... you are no longer in High School.... Notwithstanding the big egos that all law students have :D, but (mostly/usually/more or less) conceal, you'll find that the percentage of d!ck-headery is no greater than in the general populace. The main difference between scientific...

Gotta love that! Betcha that loophole will not be open at the end of Autumn 2007! Mighty nice to be spared the last 9 hours of waiting though. Thanks for that.

    LLB v JD

It does. It's just that in the US, it is not the custom for legal practitioners to call them selves "Doctor Bloggs". But you do see it post-nominally - that is, you see "Joe Bloggs JD" nearly as often as you see "Joe Bloggs PhD". Although I do wonder what they LLDs will think...
