    Memorising

Write it out three times a day starting from the day you get your assessment notification and only look at your notes when you absolutely need to. Once you're confident, start reciting it in your head when you're not busy, for example, when you're sitting on the bus. Eventually you'll be able to...

    subject selection

I can't believe people still ask if it's possible to get 90+ with [insert subjects here]. You can achieve any ATAR with any subject combination, just work as hard as you can.

    Do you find English Hard????

I'm not quite sure where I really stand in relation to English. According to my teachers, I'm naturally good at English, although it's my most loathed and poor performing subject. I also suffer from a profuse lack of confidence when it comes to English, and I'm not really sure why. With that...

    10 units vs 12 units

I'll be doing 10 ATAR units, I figured that I'm personally better off not wasting my time on an extra two units when the time could be better spent perfecting my preferred 10.

By the essays, do you mean the personal profile on the application form? What is the second one? And I think my chances are pretty good, most teachers are often happy with my attitude and maturity towards leaning, SMSHS also has the subjects I need in contrast with my current school, and I also...

Thanks for the great reply. I feel that I am a very independent learner, and I'm not one of those students who go to school because they have to, but because I strive to succeed. I have a strong feeling it's the right school for me.

    St Marys Senior High

So what you're saying is that a high percentage of the 1000 who apply are slackers, and anyone who is a genuine student will get in?

    St Marys Senior High

I'm particularly interested in St Marys because of the various IT courses available. If I'm not accepted I'd probably rather stay at my current school.

Thanks for the quick response. I really hope I get in, I'm the complete opposite of a dud student, just don't want to get my hopes up. Also, I don't plan to go there to look at pretty people, but thanks.

    St Marys Senior High

Hey guys, I'm currently in year 10, and very keen on going to SMSHS for year 11 and 12. I was just wondering, what are the standards for selection are like? I have heard that only half of the applicants are offered spots. I am an above average student, and just curious of what my chances...
