also my eng teacher says hsc eng markers do a thing where they mark papers sometimes that have already been marked that is a sample and if you mark it very far off what its supposed to be you get locked out of the hsc marking thing or smth. idk if he's lying or not

agree with this too, i am not naturally smart in that sense but im relatively successful academically - what works for me and i lot of people like me especially for stem subjects is dividing your effort into 20% understanding the concept deeply through lectures, 80% grinding practice questions...

i think its not necessary but it helps a lot if you pick the right one for you and they can provide you with extra practice or explaining concepts in the case that your school doesn't.
