    Accounting Cadetship/Internship --Part Time

Small firms will do some part-time but it's more bookkeeping/data entry style jobs where they make you work for any 2 days of the week basically entering journals and stuff, proper cadetship wise very rare to get part-time hours (unless you already went full-time with the firm before) , it's...

    Investment Banking

About 105k give or take depending on the bank straight after graduation - maximum is around 5-6 million for a star MD/head of ex section - you can just read the remuneration report the US banks file in their annual report. That's dependent on you,the bank and the team - generally you work long...

    Investment Banking

That book is roughly correct - however that salary after 3 years would only happen for an above average performer at a Big 4 and in FS audit - but if you move after your CA to commercial, that'll be roughly what you make on average (including super), yes. Trebla's pretty much right, I have...

What is so special about James Ruse or any other selective?

This is why you always see news of Chinese high school students cheating (i.e either someone sitting for you, bribing or getting answers beforehand , or hacking to change the marks), the other reality is a lot of these Chinese Students try to apply for USA university and they even try to cheat...

    USYD Law Transfer 2017

It might not even be a comeback - it's just university is a different ballgame to HSC and one doesn't necessarily correlate with the other's results in many cases (the opposite is also true, but it's not a surprising thing for the former to happen either)

Sydney uni to reintroduce maths prerequisites

You can easillyyy get through commerce with general maths, and noting other majors which require more/less maths then others - I'm fairly sure someone who didn't do 2 unit maths can get through the accounting/marketing/HR etc.. majors will little to no difference to their 2 unit counterpart - It...

Which course for working in the financial sector

The thing is the IS degree barely scratches the surface compared to CS in coding , its not as simple as doing it in your own time because the IS degree itself has enough work demand on you + other uni initiatives , part time work etc.. its different with a cs degree cause its usually all part of...

What is so special about James Ruse or any other selective?

Like someone mentioned it's a self fulfilling prophecy: the best students (i.e either good knowledge or 30+ hours tutoring per week - usually the latter) try and go to the best schools and it just repeats itself - each student there has pride and so they work to keep it that way - honestly my...

Which course for working in the financial sector

With commerce double degree you'll definitely have more opportunities (it helps that CS also teaches you basic quant skills which some jobs in comm also value)

USyd comm on par with UNSW comm? pros and cons?

I'm fairlllly sure most of your closer friends are Asian which dictates your social scene - societies are a different story altogether but I can tell you there's a lot more "white people societies" at USYD then UNSW

Which course for working in the financial sector

Expect you'll barely be able to code with an IS degree lmao, and they don't just choose anyone to code as a developer. IS is a good degree as someone says that covers a little bit of both, and it is a fairly popular combination with Commerce, but if your seriously thinking long term and by the...

Which course for working in the financial sector

Basically what Trebla said - increasingly a computer science degree will be much more handy working in the financial sector especially in a finance role - in terms of accounting both have merits (IT audit etc..) but overall I would go with computer science.

    conflicted

Macquarie has the dumbest commerce layout of all universities - they have a commerce degree where the accounting side of it does not meet ICAA subject requirements unless you take a few extra subjects, and their professional accounting and applied finance degrees are basically glorified majors...

    Applied Finance/Commerce Question

Applied finance means you need do more quantitative subjects as part of your degree and they generally set the path you take, rather then you choosing which finance subjects to do. If you major in finance in a comm degree there's much choice in the elective finance subjects you can do which...

    Most prestigious degrees?

Yeah there's not much talk of it here in Australia but America is a ripe example where prestige is actually a very important factor to get into the bigger multinationals - It's a bit of a cycle there - basically alumni is a big thing and can really help you get through the door , not to mention...
