    HSC Journal #13097

For some reason, this thread title made this pop into my head. Who am I? Student #24601! I apologise if you are not a massive Les Mis fan like me. Sounds like you are making great progress these hols-keep up the momentum :)

Is it possible to remove a unit from my transcript?

Only way to get rid of it, I believe is transferring degrees and not applying for the credit transfer from it. Otherwise it kinda just lingers on your transcript, no matter how many units you do.

    HELP! Decide Between Three Courses

If what I'm reading what you want to do correctly (i.e you want to med sci research), I know people that have done it from both. I.e ex mod Survivor39 did BMedSci, Masters of MedSci and ended up doing a PhD at Cambridge atm in some really fascinating immuno responses. Conversely, I've known...

    2014 Reading Goals?

Awesome to see so many with goals, we'll have to keep up with our progress in this thread and motivate each other to complete our resolution. “A reader lives a thousand lives before s/he dies. The person who never reads lives only one.”

    2014 Reading Goals?

I'm using Goodreads to track mine :) of twenty-five books https://www.goodreads.com/challenges/1914-2014-reading-challenge Cause last year I had a horrible habit of starting books and not finishing which I'm going to break. For someone that read so much in HS, I want to get back into it a...

    Study Buddy Program!

It can be a blessing though so then you know you are doing things for yourself. No extrinsic stress. My parents were equally happy with the 40 ATAR diff between my sibs. great to see so many signing up (y)

    Medical Science

Ash (on asianese account) poses good points. If you want to get into med, I think any of bsc/bsc(adv)/medsci are good stepping stones, with bsc having the best flexibility. Also have some back up plan if grad med doesn't eventuate. (but it really goes without saying anyone in any degree should...

2014 New Years Resolutions & Progress

Naw, you did actually do resolutions. I vote you blog and take lots of pics whilst on exchange (surely must be soon you find out where you're going if you haven't already) Well here are mine (tl;dr warning): 1. Make a committed effort to try something new (thinking...

    Does Flexible Entry apply automatically?

If you fulfil the requirements, you will be considered as the faculty will automatically consider applicants whose ATAR falls up to a maximum of 5 points below the ATAR cut-off for this course, depending on availability of places.

    Interstate/International University study

Applying interstate is really easy! :) For Victoria, just use the VTAC site and it's a very similar system to UAC. All the Australian state systems are so, and then you will get multiple offers to pick from come offer time. For overseas, look at the institutes you are interested at website...

    Study Buddy Program!

I think this is a great idea from RR :) Not everyone has supportive parents/overbearing parents in the HSC lol-peer support is a great notion! I think it's a fantastic idea to help keep yourself accountable for your own study with someone going through the same process. Especially if you are in...

Would you recommend a science degree?

    1. It will be bio and geography. The Adv major likely the bio. 2. Yes I would, but for me I would have probably told myself to cross it with BA because I had humanities flair that I miss indulging. The reason I'm glad I chose a general science degree opposed to specialised degree is that it...

    Second year subjects

What exact degree are you in? Some have different maxs of jnr credit points that can count and that, some degrees have max 48 while others have up to 60cp of jnr credit points counting to a degree award? And yeah they can be general electives, as long as you clear that min number of credit...

    Going into Year 11? - some advice from a 2014 HSC'er

This thread is 120% amazeballs. On this point too, yr 11 is a trial run, you want to put a bit of effort in to know your strengths and limitations but not to burn out. I often mention that yr 11 was my worst year academically, and yr 12 my best which is true. See part of was that I freaked a...

    Second year subjects

Well you can really do what you want with them, considering in mind your whole snr year will be blocked out (each major is 24cp so that'll be the whole 48cp in snr) unless you can fit in some of the snr units having already fulfilled reqs to take them. Otherwise it's really elective space for...

    scholarships - work experience

Yes. And many others have. I would not really say any are easy tbh-some may have less applicants though if lesser known/smaller. No, lieing always catches up with you. But even so, you'd sell yourself out lying for some money...eesh.
