    General Thoughts: Modern History

As long as you related those to why their advance could not be maintained, then sure. I talked about Japan's poor planning, technological inferiority, and internal/leadership issues as well as how America's superiority in these areas allowed them to halt and then reverse Japan's advance and...

    Biki Redirection Problem

Re: something is wrong It's still stuffed up. However it does seem to be browser-exculsive as I had the problem on Firefox, but switched to IE just now to see, and it works

    Section I – World War I

Great section. Changing attitudes was easy, and I liked that they used Bertrand Russell as a source!

NIGHT BEFORE THE EXAM - How's everyone feeling for modern history?

This. I've done a few, but there's only so many essays you can do because of the amount of content. I compiled study guides for each topic as I progressed throughout the year, so at the very least I have a general knowledge of everything; so I should be fine even if they throw a curveball or...

Who is pumped/not so pumped for modern history tomorrow? :P

Bring on National Studies and the Core 10 marker (free marks). Not so pumped for Conflict or Personality

    Source Based Analysis Notes/Guide

Good guide. This has always been the best question in the Modern paper for me, probably because I don't have to use own knowledge for it :P One thing - do you think it's necessary to use four paragraphs? I've always answered with 2; 3 at the most. The space on the answer sheet (but over 1.5...

    Nazi Foreign policy question

Try practicing this: "How did the major foreign policy steps taken by Nazi Germany from 1934 to 1939 ultimately lead to the outbreak of the Second World War?" Perhaps re-wording it into a "to what extent" kind of question might be better. You get the idea :)

    Anyone have any historian quotes?

For the National and Conflict studies, as far as I know you can still reach the top band without quotes, but it won't hurt to throw in one or two that really support your argument. Surely your textbook has historiography in it? Speer is my Personality Study so I can't help you there, sorry.

    Nazi Foreign policy question

Perhaps you mean the "structuralist v. intentionalist" debate? I doubt they will ask specifically about that debate, but you could include it in your essay on foreign policy. Just remember you have to argue your case. But yes, Hitler was obviously an aggressive expansionist; just depends on what...

Yeah, I'd much prefer foreign policy. If they ask on racial policy I'll scream

For Hitler's accession to power, how early do you think the essay should start? i.e. In the 20s right through to '33, or just from 30-ish to 33? I wrote an essay going from the 20's, but there's less specific detail in it than there would be if working with just the 30's instead, just because...

Does anyone do Conflict in the Pacific? I feel so alone...haha So for Germany, it seems like we're looking at the questions most likely being on: * The Depression * Hitler's accession to power * Social and cultural life in the Third Reich. Also, possibly racial policy? It's been a while...

General Thoughts: English Advanced Paper 2

Great paper, although the Frankenrunner question was rather stupid; still smashed out the essay quite well. Specified poem was the one I studied the most - winning. Generic History and Memory question was good. Much better than paper 1.

Section 3 - As You Like It

That would be a good approach, however the question asks: "In what ways is this view of belonging represented..." To me that's asking you to show specifically how the text supports the view; it doesn't ask to what extent, or whether or not you agree - it says this is the view, tell us how...
