    Appealing for incorrect assessment ranks.

That is massive. Go into school TODAY, like right now, and talk to your principal about it. I can't remember dates off the top of my head but iirc, today (13th) is the last day for appeals

What qualities do you seek in a tutor/teacher?

@Spiral- what exactly are you aiming for from your tutoring? And whilst I'm thinking about large class sizes, with 15 people, you will inevitably have some people that are very ahead of others. How are you planning on keeping them all engaged and learning etc. Are you thinking of targetting...

What qualities do you seek in a tutor/teacher?

Why have 10 in a class? Is this like an actual tutoring college or something? I would have imagined that you can teach most effectively in a class of 2 or 3 because there they can support each other whilst also being able to get enough individual attention.

What qualities do you seek in a tutor/teacher?

Tbh I wouldn't go down the suited path myself- it looks too authoritarian etc. Just wear something casual- honestly I wouldn't be too focussed on making sure the boundaries between tutor and student is that clear. I've never been to tutoring but just from general school experience, my favourite...

    HSC 2013 MX2 Marathon (archive)

Re: HSC 2013 4U Marathon @Sy- actually you can- I'll give a quick counter example. Consider 2 classes. Class 1: Female scores are (10). Male scores are (9,9,9). Average female score is 10, average male score is 9. Class 2: Female scores are (2,2,2,2). Male scores are (1). Average female score...

Are you dropping down to 10 units for the HSC, or are you doing more?

Personally, I did 12 units and I don't regret it one bit because I still don't know what'll count out of physics and chemistry. If you're doing 12 though, you have to make sure your backup unit is actually a backup- like I was equal ranked in phys and chem. If you are top five in 10 units and...

    chemistry

Its not that predictable but even assuming next years exam is hard, everyone sits the exact same hard test... Hard tests are much better imo because they provide differentiation between students

    Check your assessment ranks

Yep- I don't have equals for all the ones I tied on

    Electron configuration and ion formation

Out of curiosity, what textbook(s) are you using to learn this stuff?

    Industrial Chemistry.

Yeah 7 marker was interesting. I talked mainly about the development of soaps and detergents and then wrote just a bit on emulsifiers. I'll lose marks though if they want something concise -> I wrote 3 pages lol because I didn't know how to cut it down further. For modelling I did decomposition...

    Electron configuration and ion formation

You are assuming that there has to be a one to one ratio of oxygen to sodium. For simplicity, and I recommend you do this, just look at the valency of the element (essentially number of electrons in the outer shell). Sodium has one, so it has a valency of +1. Oxygen needs two more to complete...

    IUPAC naming for carbon compounds

Is this naming carbon compounds or naming haloalkanes etc. (if you know the difference)? Like does your stuff JUST have hydrogen and carbon in it or does it also have other stuff (like bromine etc.).

    General Thoughts: Chemistry

For the eutrophication question, I don't think DO/BOD is enough personally- I mentioned this quickly but I think you have to go into nitrate/phosphate tests (like colorimetry, Kjeldahl method etc.). Just my two cents though

    Multiple Choice

Yep got all this except I put A for 13 though I had no clue so I'm probs wrong. I'm pretty sure IUPAC changed naming laws in 2005 so electronegativity no longer applies but I put D anyway. Wouldn't be surprised to see question removed imo
