University of Newcastle 2013 Roll Call

I'm doing a Bachelor of Engineering in Telecommunications. I can't wait to get into it! I'm also hoping for an offer for the Diploma in Languages part time course through the late round offers. I've always wanted to learn another language and figured why the hell not now?

    2013 Main round cut-offs

B Eng (Telecommunications) rose from 72.25 to 86.50 at the University of Newcastle. That is somewhat crazy and bizarre.

Post Your 2013 University Offers Here

Bachelor of Engineering (Telecommunications) at the University of Newcastle. My course's cutoff increased this year from 72-ish to 86.50, so I'm kind of happy that I put in the extra work towards the HSC now, haha.

    What is your first preference?

Bachelor of Engineering (Telecommunications) at the University of Newcastle. UNSW for the same course was an option when I received my ATAR, but I want to stay local and I actually prefer Newcastle as a place to Sydney. Now to start packing the aeroguard...

    2013 Federal election

Re: 2013 Australian Federal election Based upon his views upon economics and unionism, it's never going to happen. Personally, I would love a Turnbull-led Liberal Party. Not going to happen, unfortunately, but I would align near-perfectly with such a government. On the election, the...

Band 6 in Engineering Studies...waitt... say whaaat?

I ended up with an examination mark of 91 and an assessment mark of 77, bringing my HSC mark to 84. Oh how I wish I had tried harder throughout the year and managed a band six myself, haha. Well done, champ!

    First in Course List

Haha, that's when you start talking about something completely random. It's great to see some more Hunter/Central Coast representation in state firsts this year! Hopefully the trend continues.

    First in Course List

I was so happy for my mate Josh. First in the state in Entertainment, and raising light to our school's name, haha.

    What have you eaten today?

So far, a box of Chicken Crimpies, a packet of Starbursts, a tin of Heinz spaghetti and a shot of Johnnie Walker Green Label. Thinking Subway or Maccas run sometime soon, too.

    Section I - Multiple Choice

I screwed multiple choice so bad. I'm looking at 12/20 tops. I have no real dramas with this, however, as I'm extremely confident that I blitzed the rest of the paper (excluding Angry Birds, because I'm a retard). Hopefully I can pull out a good 80/100 raw, although I will be very content with...

    transmission question

Re: General Thoughts: Physics Yep. A power station every 1 km for 100 km that utilises 3 kW at each station. Adds up to a total power loss of 3 MW, higher than the 1.6 MW power loss of solution B. Edit: or answered five times already. Too easy. =P

    General Thoughts: Physics

I looked at this and was like "DAFUCK DID I MISS A QUESTION?!" Then I realised, option that I didn't do. Pheww. Actually, on the options, I really wish that we did Age of Silicon in class. Those questions looked awesome. Right up my alley, and it would have been complimentary with Engineering...

    transmission question

Re: General Thoughts: Physics I had 1.6 MW for B, 3 MW for C (due to the cooling stations) and something much higher for A.

    General Thoughts: Physics

Nup. Lo is the length of the object in its stationary frame of reference.

    Hooray, I got that too.

    General Thoughts: Physics

I was pretty impressed with the seeming ease of the paper this year. With the exception of multiple choice, of course. I think that I ended up with 10/20, possibly 12 max for multiple choice, but then I always fuck up multiple choice in Physics because it's so god damn deceitful. Nearly...

    General Thoughts: Engineering Studies

Intellectual property and questions on project management were all IPT, too. Aahh, I love when subjects combine.

2013 HSC Students - heed my/our warning regarding Engineering Studies as a subject.

Re: 2013 HSC Students - heed my/our warning regarding Engineering Studies as a subjec Haha, God no. The mathematics is extremely simple and easy. It's just the interpretation that screws with some of the people that do the course.
