    HSC 2012-2015 Chemistry Marathon (archive)

re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive After this question has been answered, I would like the 2015'ers to try this question: Assess the potential of ethanol as an alternative car fuel, or as an additive to petrol, and discuss advantages and disadvantages of its use. (7 marks)

Onequality with pronumeral at the bottom

Yep sorry, my bad, that is correct.

Onequality with pronumeral at the bottom

    Yes you can! You must get rid of the x+5 in the denominator \frac{1}{x+5} < 1 $Now multiplying (x+5) throughout$ i.e 1< x+5 \therefore x> -4

Onequality with pronumeral at the bottom

They didn't, they just multiplied p^ throughout (they should of indicated that they did that for the marker to see, however it is not warranted).

Onequality with pronumeral at the bottom

No, its simple algebra, if you want to get rid of the p on the denominator you must multiply b.s by p, hence cancelling the p in the denominator in the R.H.S. IF there was a p^2 in the denominator, then yes, you will multiply p^2 throughout and then you will be left with a quadratic to solve.

    General Thoughts: HSC PD/H/PE

The paper may published on BOSTES within the next few days (could be even tomorrow since the exam was just last Friday).

How much can your estimate drop if you bomb an exam?

Sorry I couldn't find anything about Jap Ext raw marks-->alignment, people don't seem purchase their raw marks for this subject and even if they do its quite rare, but yeah, nothing I could find... Just keep your head up and focus on your remaining exams.

How much can your estimate drop if you bomb an exam?

What subject is this? I could give you more details about its aligning of raw marks and see if you still in the range for an E4 cut-off.

How much can your estimate drop if you bomb an exam?

Considerably with your situation about 'bombing out' and since it is an extension subject.

Band 6 & State Rank Raw Mark

The B6 cut-off will be around 82-83 raw ~96 for a state rank imo after looking at other years cut-off's.

    General Thoughts: HSC PD/H/PE

No prob. Ok so you go to my profile (which should be up near the top right hand corner)-->about me (in one of the tabs)-->signature I hope that's all there is to it because I'm on my phone currently and that's all I can recall based off the website.

    General Thoughts: HSC PD/H/PE

PD/H/PE is a subject that is on par with Business Studies in terms of scaling.

    Are there BOSTES spies?

Lol, you know when BOSTES has those job vacancies every now and then, and its something along the lines of 'Media Relations Officer', its quite self explanatory what the role might bring to BOSTES and how its linked to how questions are made in the HSC, huehue... ಠ_ಠ

    General Thoughts: HSC PD/H/PE

Lets hope that PDHPE aligns better this year and the raw mark for a B6 cut off is low too. This was last years raw --> aligned marks: 93 (raw)  96 (aligned) 88 (raw)  93 (aligned) 84 (raw)  91 (aligned) 75 (raw)  85 (aligned)
