Generally all Undergraduate medical schools require UMAT. The only one that doesn't that I can think of right now is James Cook University in Townsville.

Watched season2 episode 1 today. Loved it. The last part where the Lannister guards try to kill Robert's bastards is extreme. Especially when they kill the baby. But overall, a great series. Up to the third book.
Think about the positives. At least you screwed up the exam in your prelim year and not your HSC year (when the assessment marks actually count). Make sure you learn and understand whatever you got wrong to make sure this doesn't happen in HSC year.
To OP: You'd have to work overseas if you do petroleum engineering, as Australia has limited petroleum resources as far as I know. So that should be a factor you should keep in mind.

Yr 11 is a massive leap relative to yr 10. So yeah enjoy yourself but also try to get slightly ahead, especially in maths since you stated you wanted to do 4 unit.
