Civil Engineering - USYD (with scholarship) vs. UNSW

Between two great universities like USYD vs UNSW, I would say follow the money if you are generally like Sophie's Choice can't split the two. That said, you should never sell out for money if you really want to go to UNSW more, but considering it's the same course at both top unis I'm not sure...

HSC Inspiration - Your School Rank Doesn't Matter

OP is truth. Hard work and pushing yourself beyond barriers will always be merited. You can come from a smallest of comprehensives from the furtherest of regions, and still end up in a uni course mixing with all those kids that did go to those top schools in the end :)

    UNSW vs USYD Commerce

Naw that's so cute :) yeah instead of going to a my closest capital city, I decided to go to move 7 hrs away knowing close to noone (noone super well anyway). And all the people I met this year were the highlight, where if I went and lived with people with my hometown/other people I knew in...

Choo choo, all aboard the TAFE train!

I hope this is trolling. Firstly, shouldn't really be bagging out TAFE. Secondly, only 'low' ATARs are needed at many rural or less popular universities(50-70 can get you into quite a few courses). And if your ATAR was 30-50 ish, doing tafe and then progressing to uni is a great option. My...

    ATAR Prediction

Yeah, it doesn't because it's a conversion of HSC to the aggregate for ATAR. My estimate? ~91.8

How did you balance everything in Year Eleven?

strawberrye and rumbleroar are on the absolute money as always. I think it's really important to recognise what is a need, what is high priority and low priority. If you have something due in two days, you need to be working on it. Something due in a week is high priority. For a break, wasting...

Should I Try Out For Selective?

Yeah definitely give it a shot, I think you'd have a good chance, if not SBHS, another selective. Being in a selective school environment would help immensely, but if you are not accepted, with drive and motivation you can achieve that ATAR at any school.

Hey y'all, Just want to say how all mega proud I am of you all for completing the HSC-it's all a bit like a hurdles race. I hope you all surpass your expectations, as I have had the pleasure all year of seeing you tackle and overcome a difficult concept, improve on past results etc. Also now...

    UNSW vs USYD Commerce

Sometimes choosing to deliberately go where you know no one is great. Depends on the person. USYD has shops...it's also ridiculously close to Broadway and by extension, the Sydney CBD :P

    Question about "Studying Math"

Presuming it's a topic test, pull out some relevant questions for the past papers. If you're struggling with an area, you may have to go back to the textbook to get more comfortable with the style of Q and reattempt some harder type Qs of it again once you've got it down. I always liked to...

Studying a language for first time

I'd never do a language as a WAM booster. Firstly, you'll lack the intrinsic motivation needed for languages. Secondly, languages are incredibly hard unless you have a flair for them. Thirdly, even the most basic language/starting level moves really fast in uni. Like they'd cover in a semester...
