    UMAT scores

That's funny; I'm wondering the same thing. I did the practice test earlier and when I looked at that chart in the FAQs, I was very surprised cause the marks seem very low. Eg, does ATAR of 99.5 mean you only have to get over 54/110? That's less that 50%!

Why selective school kids need tutors?

I think the main problem is that many parents are sending their children to coaching colleges prior to sitting the SSET (and perhaps the OC test too), so they can be sure to get their children the places there. The children may not necessarily be thinking much of it, but just grow up thinking...

Who got 100 UAI in 2008?

Which Sarah? I can't remember many people apart from those in our class :p There's a guy in our year at SBHS who (everyone thinks) will almost definitely get 100. 4U English, 4U Maths, 3U Latin, 3U Classical Greek and 3U Music. 17 units, but get this though; he did 2U Music 2, 2U Maths and 2U...

Who got 100 UAI in 2008?

I can't believe how this thread has eventuated... The list was done ages ago! :p Does anyone know what Emmanuel Marinos' marks were? I know he did 3 English, 4 Maths, 3 Classical Greek and 2 Chem (and funniliy enough, state rankings of 3rd only for both Greek courses); he must've gotten pretty...

    Favourite Quotes.

Stupid funny Patrick Star, from Spongebob- "So you mean to say they've taken what we thought we think and make us think we thought our thoughts we've been thinking our thoughts we think we thought...I think?" Famous Tony Montana, from Scarface- "Say hello to my little friend!" From a book...

Who got 100 UAI in 2008?

Same goes for Greek. People often say 'You can get like, 70 and it will sky-rocket higher.' Yeah.....no. It doesn't work like that. At all

Dunno. I seriously did not notice the time gap with the thread :p

    Metroid

Love the Metroid series! I have ever since I was like, 4 years old or something. Had Super Metroid on our SNES and I loved it; never knew what I was doing half the time, but that was the game that got me into video games altogether. Unfortunately, never got to finish it back then because we gave...

Strike on the first two days of school (2009)

Haha, very funny. I know who you are, and I'm also better than you in English.

Strike on the first two days of school (2009)

"Everybody is in the same boat in terms of doing English as a subject, so if you don't like English, stop complaining" was the message meant to be conveyed

Strike on the first two days of school (2009)

Read, Tim : PROBABLY English. It's not liked by a helluva lot of people, but there are some who do like it, which is why I did use the word 'probably'

Who got 100 UAI in 2008?

Jessica topped English and English Ext. 1 too, so I guess it's not too surprising that she got 100. She did Phys, Chem and 4 Unit maths too, from what the Herald said.

Strike on the first two days of school (2009)

I agree, year 11 is quite overrated. In almost no way does it count to your HSC (only maaaaaybe it cooooooooould affect what class you get into), and you're only doing subjects you chose to be doing... except probably English. But then with that, everyone is in the same boat, so stop complaining.

Who got 100 UAI in 2008?

K, I did not get 100 myself (I haven't done the HSC yet), but I'm just curious to see who did get 100. There were 23, at least 9 of which were from Ruse. I also know that Daniel Swain from Smiths Hill, Kate *something* from Abbotsleigh, Justin Zuo from Sydney Boys, and Emmanuel Marinos from...

    Failings of the IB

I'm pretty sure it's outta 45; read it up on good ol' Wikipedia a few months ago :p From another thing I can remember, to get into UNSW Undergraduate Medicine, you need like 34 minimum for IB... as opposed to 95 UAI. But then again, they're just minimums for the UAI/IB and don't take into...

    Latin results?

Sydney Grammar, SHORE, PLC (Pymble), Sydney Boys, Sydney Girls, are usually good performers. Unfortunately at SBHS, we didn't get any state rankings this year, but we have in the past, and we still did well this year. Someone got 49/50 for ext, and someone else got 98 for continuers.
