Burgmann is definitely the Arts/Law college - if you're not interested in politics I'm not sure how you'll cope there (will you even pass interview? :P) If you want a catered college I'd recommend Ursies or Bruce instead. (disclaimer: I'm biased towards my own college, obviously...)

No, you can change your preferences after Main Round and you will be considered equally for the later rounds. And you can accept your Main Round offer (UAC advises you to) in which case you have to withdraw from that offer if you choose to accept a late round offer.

My understanding is that no matter what preference they gave, all applicants are considered equally for the course. I guess that if they're both over the cutoff, they'd both get offers, and if the uni doesn't have enough spaces they'd adjust the cutoff accordingly.

It's an FOI officer in a small agency (IIRC it's ~100 staff) so that's quite unlikely really. (edit: I had to check - 216.1 full-time equivalent staff, plus 578 FTE markers... wow, that's a lot of markers... still a fairly small agency by public service standards.)
