    Possibility of 96+?

Definitely doable - my school was ranked ~200ish and we got a 96.60 last year. You'll still need to put in a lot of effort and keep those ranks up.

approx. what will my ATAR mark be?

Firstly, what's your ranks out of, and secondly what do you mean by 'not ranked well'? Your class ranks are pretty good for VA, CAFS and D&T, not sure about PDHPE or English since you might just have a big class for those. But make sure you keep them up.

diffrence b/w combined degrees and double degrees

At ANU, the official handbook term is Combined for all programs, including Arts/Science (which is what I'm doing). TTBOMK the terms are completely equivalent and I don't know of any university that says anything different.

    Seeking Advice[important]

Well, it does depend on what your aim for 4U is and how hard your teacher marks... all I know is that I got ~40% raw in the HSC exam and ended up with 78. They could refuse to sign your enrolment variation...

    Seeking Advice[important]

4U Maths aligns and scales amazingly so don't worry if you're only getting ~60% in that. It really depends on how well you think you can manage it. If IPT's taking up time which you'd rather put into maths, then dropping it might be the best option. 4U maths will scale way above IPT anyway...

Some Tips from People Who Got Their Scripts Back

Obviously not for the humanities subjects, but for science you can get away with this as long as you're still writing proper English. It would depend on the marking criteria they've adopted - some are quite specific about the points they need before they're willing to give marks.

Combined degree of BAct/BFin or BAct only? and overloading

I don't know much about your degree program, but: The College office could probably help you out there, they might also be able to refer you to program convenors etc. who can advise you.

diffrence b/w combined degrees and double degrees

I'm always correct :p The reason that was given to me when I enquired about doing a BA/BSEng at ANU was that they don't run a program unless there's sufficient demand - it creates administrative burden (I assume they mean writing course plans, notifying UAC, setting cutoffs, handling...

diffrence b/w combined degrees and double degrees

They're one and the same. I think 'combined' is the formal term, 'double' is colloquial.

Is it true uni is more relaxing than HSC year?

During the HSC I don't recall staying up until 4am working on essays and heading to the library at 8:30am to finish them. :|

    Software Engineering vs. IT

As much as the NCSSer in me would vote for BIT @ USyd just because you'd have James Curran as a lecturer, I put BSEng@UNSW slightly higher on my own UAC preferences.

    Humanities under attack!!

I'd care slightly more about this campaign if a) they'd slow down a bit with their obnoxious postering and b) they put out something actually summarising the issues... Are you at ANU, writer'sblock?

    Nervous about rank cut-off. Help?

The early rounds are mainly for courses that rely on non-rank-based selection (e.g. music courses that select based on auditions, etc.) or for students who aren't completing any studies that year. Everyone else gets their offers in the main and later rounds. So yeah, I don't think you have...

    Nervous about rank cut-off. Help?

It's unlikely your courses would be giving out early round offers so it wouldn't matter.

    Nervous about rank cut-off. Help?

How do you know you'll get 87? Also what academic results are you getting that won't arrive until December? :/ If you do get 87 it's almost certain you'd get into the courses you want.

Re: "Can I get a decent ATAR with these subjects?"

If your Standard Eng teacher is giving out marks up near that end, that could just mean they're an easy marker - I got a lot of 85%+ assessments and ended up with 76 in the HSC. These are pretty good, they probably won't get you 97+ at the moment but they're not bad.

This. I haven't even been here for a semester and it's definitely true.
