Would you do a PHD for medicine?

from what i know (and that's not very much), It takes an extra 2 years with the phd/MD but that's still shorter than the normal time a phd would take, so it's like they've speeded up the process kinda. (don't quote me on this tho, not too sure) As for the phd, i would be interested to do a phd...

Most helpful subjects to study at university for GAMSAT

tbh, yes most of them do touch on physiology but a first year bio knowledge of the human body is sufficient to answer around 95% of them.. It's much better to take a second year chem uni to master organic chem etc (which are much harder) in comparison to a physiology unit.

Make sure you know your theory REALLY well as well as lab techniques (watch youtube) walking into the exam. You'll be fine.

yeah, no doubt it'll be useful in med... but not that useful for gamsat.. the biology in gamsat is not heavily physiology based at all and the biology is relatively straight forward in comparison to organic chem etc

University deregulation beginning 2016 (2014 budget)

Firstly, please don't say something without any previous knowledge. The figures i was referring to aren't even CLOSE to what international students are paying for medicine. A post graduate medicine course in australia will cost them around ~300k and if they want to do their undergrad here as...

University deregulation beginning 2016 (2014 budget)

1- A 4 year degree doesn't allow much time for research. All the money that the government is allocating to medical research is good but non of it is going to medschools. Also, you're saying that there's nothing with 120k being added to your hecs... Just coz it's not upfront, doesn't mean you...

University deregulation beginning 2016 (2014 budget)

I don't think an extra $120k is considered a 'slight' change

    Reliability and validity of sources

Reliability has been answered above. For validity, it's whether the experiment is actually testing the hypotheses or not (and that's quite a vague definition- Validity usually varies depending on the experiment)
