    Dentistry at La Trobe?

Hard to compare different states but for VIC, Melbourne would be better. However, they won't be offering undergrad dent any longer. La Trobe will be the only one in VIC. As such, it will be the best and the worst. =D

Introducing: Dentistry at La Trobe University

It is a a meer $28 to apply via VTAC. Cheap. Boarding life is FUN! Plus, you never know, La Trobe might end up accepting 98.00+ like the 08' cohort.

Introducing: Dentistry at La Trobe University

It would be quite hard with a 98.00 right now (esp. for 2010 entry, since La Trobe will be the only University in Victoria taking students for Dentistry). You can always try. I do not believe applications have closed yet. Applications are through VTAC. Does not hurt to apply. Best of luck.

Introducing: Dentistry at La Trobe University

Brilliant. Thanks. I know Anna Ng-is it- personally. She's in my year level. Only 43 of us left. We know everyone in our year level and 90% of the 2nd cohort.

Introducing: Dentistry at La Trobe University

I've been browsing around this forum and have noticed that La Trobe University's Dentistry course has not been able to gain much public recognition. I just want to introduce the course here for all those interested. First up, for those who did not do well on the UMAT, do not panic. La Trobe's...

    Dentistry at La Trobe?

2009 entry: Melbourne Uni: 60 positions La Trobe: 40 positions (ENTER: 99.7) 1st round 2010 Entry: Melbourne Uni: 0 positions La Trobe: 40 positions (Enter? PROBABLY up.) 60% Decrease in the total number of positions... I would be my money on 1st round being higher... :S

    Dentistry at La Trobe?

La Trobe has only run its Dentistry course for 2 years. There has been no graduates. As such, I believe the reputation of all courses from La Trobe is determined by the university's overall ranking (i.e. not very well). If you receive an offer to LA Trobe, you would probably have received...

Hey, Sorry to have replied so late. I don't check BoS until later on in the year. Here's a link to a post I made relating to Dent @ LTU: http://community.boredofstudies.org/603/general-la-trobe-university/221021/dentistry-offers-atar-equivelants.html Hope to see you here next year. Best of...

    Dentistry at La Trobe?

I understand La Trobe's inferior ranking. However, consider courses independently. Dentistry at la Trobe requires an "ATAR" or ENTER of 99.7+ for a clearly in. There is a reason why it is so high; high demand. Would you like to quote a course from USYD that has those figures printed...

    Dentistry offers and ATAR equivelants

Hello all, The ATAR or ENTER for Dentistry for the 09' intake was indeed 99.7 for first round. However, you can get in with a 99.3+ in second and third round offers; this is not guaranteed. Second and third rounds are based on other criteria including, but not limited to, your performance in a...

So how much does a Doctor really earn?

There is an urban legend, recently repeated on Seinfeld, that dentists have the highest suicide rate of any profession. This is false. The effects of TV huh? Amazing people will eat anything TV cooks up for them. =P

So how much does a Doctor really earn?

Yes source please. Unless if my aunty and cousins are both EXTREME outliers. First year maybe 36k (still doubt it). As for a GP making less than $100/day. o_O 4 patients a day? My GP gets about 4 patients in 30 minutes!

    Dentistry at La Trobe?

Not sure, best to give La Trobe a call. Quick 2 minutes can get your questions answered. Good Luck. BTW for those who are curious, '09 ENTRY Cut off: Clearly-in 99.70 (ninety-nine point seven) UAI/ENTER.

    Elite universities... :s

Aye. He probably did screw up his interviews. A friend of mine is in MIT for engineering. 99.90ENTER. Very good with the interview though. They'll look for every single positive quality. Leadership, community service, humour, confidence etc. etc. I once dreamed of going to those Unis. I find...

Which UNI is better? Deakin or Monash

Monash. Employment rates from Monash are MUCH higher.

Ridiculous Dentistry Clearly-in at La Trobe University. Any verification? MUST LOOK!

Re: Ridiculous Dentistry Clearly-in at La Trobe University. Any verification? MUST LO Technically there is no set round 2 cut off, since other things such as individual subject scores (i.e. 50 VCE-study for chem or any pre-req), are taken into account. Have the 2nd round offers been released...

Ridiculous Dentistry Clearly-in at La Trobe University. Any verification? MUST LOOK!

Re: Ridiculous Dentistry Clearly-in at La Trobe University. Any verification? MUST LO That's correct. UMAT is not a criteria for LA Trobe Dentistry. I feel lucky that I graduated in '07 for 08' entry! Fringe was only 98.55 (and I got 98.55) LOL! JUST MADE the fringe.
