If we sent in EAS, are we supposed to receive a notification if it's been accepted/rejected?

When I applied a year ago for Longlife position, I didn't have to go through the group assessment process. My process went: Interview with longlife manager then induction. It seemed that they really needed people and skipped me straight to the interview. Was I just lucky?
