I'd keep it as it is, if you like science do chemistry. I know everyone says that scaling doesn't matter that much but it really really does matter if you're aiming for a 95+ atar but that's just my opinion and i personally love chemistry and topped it in my school.

Completely depends on your degree. A degree like medicine doesn't allow you to even have a part time job unless you are SUPER organised. Other degrees such as architecture allow you to have a full time job and study full time. Also depends on the person.

Doing chemistry is actually extremely important if you want to do med. Way more important than biology/phys. It is a prerequisite in 3-4 universities in QLD and all unis in nsw and vic recommend you to do it. If you are THINKING of doing medicine, chemistry is a must. Biology is also...

Unless you get 99.7+ You don't have any chance for undergrad medicine this year. The pathway I'd take if i were you is to either take a gap year (if your atar is 99+) or start a preferably medicine related degree (eg med science) and resit umat and apply as a non-standard. Goodluck
