General Thoughts: English Advanced Paper 2 (Modules)

LOL i thought that but then im like nahh can't be xD In one of my sentences though I went something like conflicting perspectives convey provocative statements provoking blah blah and then realised I used a bit of tautology there haha Mod A, interesting question but readily adapted so should be...

What do you think you will score out of 60?

yeah thats right. 50-54 seems about right considering i got 51 for trials. Then again I got 20 for mod A and 14 for mod B so I doubt that could possible happen haha. Who's gonna lodge an FOI form and get their papers back? =P I shall if its a decent band 6 haha.

    All essays!

a bit too easy for my liking. That means there going to be a bit harder on the marking to differentiate between the higher range marks =[

    Marks lost for illegibility?

+1 English teachers are the most dedicated to deciphering writing particularly in modules because they understand the sheer pressure we're under to get stuff down. My stupid ancient teacher said it cost me 15 marks tho so I was pretty darn pissed =[

    CSSA Module B Question

I'm pretty sure you wouldn't need to worry about something like this... a reflection though is when you think about things in a deep and meaningful way perhaps to reach some sort of meaningful way. That's what you do in poetry to try and see how it relates to you and shapes your oppinions of...

    Spartiate homoioi help?

They aren't 'equals' as such as there are many instances of kings having larger estates than other spartiates. The Kings were also given double portions at the syssitia and were served first. This wasn't very equal-like either

Anyone studied for other text types?

somewhat studied them. Speech would be nice because i placed a bit of emphasis on that. Pretty much use I and make your intro seem less formal. Throw in an anecdote or quote that sums up what your are going to say (thats hard to do tho) and you would be find. It could also be a conversation...

General Thoughts: English Paper 1 (AOS)

Did anyone got told that they can't take stopwatches into the exam that are not 'wrist -watches'? I freaked when i heard that but then i remembered that this wasn't modules. I told my dad and he changed the batteries of one of our old digital watches just because of this after I told him...

    Section 2 - Creative Writing

Did you guys just write the quote at the top of the page or something like "quote 2" ? I was a bit annoyed at the stimulus as whilst I had quite a few elements that related to relationships, it sort of shifted the focus away from the actual theme I was trying to convey in the creative. That...

    Section 3 - Extended Response

They will probably disregard the second text as many have said because it wouldn't be fair on others who did follow instructions. I couldn't believe my eyes when I read that. Then again, it allowed me to answer the question better which is perhaps what they wanted from that. Overall probably my...

    Module B Slessor opinions?

you're not meant to centre your responses on readings. Its about applying the reading so that it enhances your own viewpoint. Otherwise whats the point of putting it in? Make sure you don't try and just provide shopping lists of these people because otherwise, they are essentially useless...

    Yeats' poetry, how many poems?

To all that say why learn all the poems or whats the point, well its like not doing half the course. It wouldn't be entirely right if just learn two poems and thats all you do in the entire module. 10 weeks condensed into doesn't seem right. You should write on 2 and if you can manage it, then 3...

    Do you use first person?

oh yeah to add to that, I got 14/20 for my mod b essay purely because I accidently answered the wrong question which was supposedly much easier than the required question so thats what let me down by at least 3 marks. When you go back to school for your belonging paper, why don't you ask your...

    Superconductors @#*$&!!!!

Despite knowing all this paramagnetic and diamagnetic, I know my school never mentioned these two words but they did say that these concepts (BCS mainly though the meisner effect to some extent) don't work just like textbooks like jacaranda describe. That being said, HSC markers aren't going to...

    Do you use first person?

If its a poetry essay then I know you should definitely say I believe this and my oppinion has been shaped by this critic blah blah. Perhaps your personal response was good but your desconstruction let you down?

    Non-uniform circular motion

anyways back to topic. My teacher said its in there and so he taught us to derive the equations again and what not because we did it after the trials which was a long time after we learnt motion. He also showed us cases where it came up other than 1981 but don't quote me on that because I sorta...
