Do we need an extensive range of case study references for trials and hsc?

I've got trials in 4 weeks. I've just finished my notes for all my subjects, over the next week I'm going to read them twice, nothing else. Than I'll start doing past papers. Is that what i should be doing 2 weeks prior to trials?

does it matter if you use prescribed texts as your related? Just for my trial exams I'm using "Raw" by Scott Monk, i really don't have the time to analyse any others. Obviously for the actual HSC i'll change it, but is it still ok?
