    Transferring from Tafe to Uni

The absolute minimum for applying to university anywhere is Certificate IV and many universities will require a Diploma level qualification for the sake of entry. It is also very very competitive to gain entry using a Cert IV at the universities who do accept them when you consider you are...

Who Thinks UTS Needs a Makeover?

I think Building 1 and Building 2 could be made to look a little more pleasing to the eye, and Building 3 seriously needs some attention. Everything else looks pretty decent though. I also like the bridge, it currently feels pretty awesome that we can traverse most of the campus without ever...

    The CIE Hotline

Later on in the course, the relevance will depend which strand you do - if you do Journo, PubComm or IM you'll have core subjects that expand on the theories you're covering now in CIE and later MIS. Same applies if you choose to do a sub-major from Communications and Information Studies of your...

    General UTS chit-chat

Re: The UTS 'Secks and Start of Autumn Semester' Thread The 2006 version of CIE was worse than MPO, I can say this with the utmost certainty as people complained about it so hard that this year the course was completely rewritten and new texts chosen and new assignments. It used to be the...

    ba communication (public communication)????

UTS Communications doesn't have a midsession intake, its only at the end of each year. Its also really really easy to transfer from one strand of communications to another so its no great shakes if you do writing or social inquiry instead of pubcomm - you can just transfer later. You also can do...

Great places to eat and fun things to do near UTS

That's because the microwave is broken - presumably they're going to fix/replace it. Apart from that I don't know of another one (which doesnt mean there isnt, just that i havent found one yet) so my friends and I just default to asking the food court workers for a spin on their microwave.

Internal Transfer- combined degree, adding international studies

It depends on which faculty manages the double degree - for instance someone in BA Communications can't do an internal transfer to BA Communications/LLB because the combined law degree is managed by the Law faculty. Whereas they can with BA Communications/BA International Studies. So if both...

    Anyone lived in Kirrawee?

I used to, its quite shite - the train station is small and doesn't recieve as many trains as it needs. The area is also full of bogans and housing commission places. E.g next door to me was a prostitute with her addict boyfriend, other side was a methadone user that had kids who shat on their...

VC week, which is a week off for everyone is 9 - 13 April, also most faculties have some form of holiday in the following week (16 - 20 April) which is Week 7. Week 10 is the 7 - 11 May. Also, when everything finishes will depend on when and if you have exams.

    Childcare - question help please!

While people with the appropriate experience would be given preference over you for entry, I imagine few people with this experience would apply to the Cert III since it is an entry level qualification. Especially since HSC students are eligible for entry into the Diploma. So I imagine you'd...

    precis

A précis is a very concise summary or an abridgement of content. So my interpretation is that you are supposed to find the arguments and information produced within the chapter and recreate them in an abridged form that presents these items in such a manner that as little information as possible...
