Yeah i'll answer your question, even though I havn't done the hsc... Both prelim and hsc are the same in structure, but the content that you learn differs to certain extents. Eg: Biology has 4 modules to learn in prelim, and the Hsc too has 4 modules to learn (1 being an options module). Prelim...

I should agree in keeping ancient history for a few weeks because it's a 2u subject, but personally I'd drop it straight away because then I wouldn't have to worry about the subject as a burden all at once. I dropped maths ext1 (it's only 1U) and so i'm left with 10 units in which I now have...

Tutoring is expensive haha, the whole reason why I don't get tutoring! But I might consider one for maths and chem like a few weeks before my trials or during stu-vac, just to further prepare me of important concepts and to get a hold of past trial papers from selective schools :D

Mmmmm we didn't cover induction, oh well. I failed my yearly maths 3u miserably, a lousy 10-20%, with a prelim average of 30%-40%. Glad that i'm dropping it :)

Yeah i'm considering in getting a chem and maths tutor for a few weeks...sometime next year...so I can pick out my weaknesses/improvements and so I can be further prepared in exam techniques and approaching exams etc.

Yeap, i've got the biology in contexts book, pretty detailed though, I heard that it's the best bio book out there. And for my other subjects I've got a whole lot of other supplement textbooks + study guides.

lol should just go into a bookstore and look through all the maquarie prelim study guides and write down the passwords :D

I don't like making my own notes from scratch :S I usually just use other people's notes, and add my little bits to it with a whole lot of arrows, high lighting etc

Mmmmm, I don't know about you, but NOT getting a uai of 80+ (etc) is definately NOT a fail. Of course we need to study hard in the HSC period, but remember: the HSC, university courses, UAI's of 96.45 etc... They're not the stuff that we should completely concentrate on, eventhough it may have...

lol yeah, I need to get adequate sleep every night - 8 hours sleep. Gonna quit my sports for a year - swapping to the gym. Stick key points etc on my walls. Do past papers when it comes to exam time. And possibly get a tutor for chem - my chem teacher ain't too good :(
