    2009 HSC Genetics Option

They wanted you to talk about a prac you did for modelling gene linkage. I linked it in with linked genes/crossing over leading to recombinants etc. My prac was pretty bullshit, we did it with snakes and gummy bears LOL

    Band cut-offs

Re: What will be this years band 6 be for bio Depends on what angle you're looking at it from. Alot of BOS people said 2U was easy, but the consensus among my peers at a selective high school was that we collectively failed. The way I see it, we're lucky there's so many dumbcunts doing the HSC

    Band cut-offs

Re: Band 6 Cut Off HSC 97/98 would be around 94/95 I would think. The band six cutoff stays generally the same, mid 80s raw.

    Band cut-offs

Re: What will be this years band 6 be for bio Probs the same as the previous years, so around 83/84. It was pretty easy, but then again all bio exams arent that difficult.

I'm gonna stop reading this thread/getting depressed. If I get 10/15 for multiple I still think raw 85+ is possible.

    2009 HSC Genetics Option

I swear I pretty much did exactly what you did; except not sickle cell, I just did cystic fibrosis. Fukn good section tbh, the 7 marker was open to ranting about all forms of mutations etc. Good good test.

Re: Bio Exam ? multiple was probs the only real challenging section, if at all. I can't remember them, but how fucked was question 13? Immunosupressive drugs ?? I saw that and the 4 options made no sense.

    General Thoughts: Biology

Re: Bio Exam ? If by everyone you mean me you can't really judge from that because I go to a selective high scool. But damn yeah I thought it was easy, only thing I kinda stuffed was the kidney thing, because it was in our trial and for some untold reason I assumed it wouldnt be in the hsc. I...

Hope they don't fuck us over like they did Religion English and Maths. Bio is relatively straightforward, just read notes and you'll be fine. If worst comes to worst, employ waffle techniques for big markers. :ninja:

Wait you left out that amount of questions, and still ran out of time? I finished 20 mins early, well finished all that I could attempt, and I had left out the last two parts of question 10.
