    Newtons Method Question

    3*sqrt(10) = sqrt(90) basically, one wants x such that x^2 = 90 so the question amounts to solving x^2=90 or f(x)=x^2-90=0 f'(x)=2x now ones knows that 10^2 = 100, so one can use that as an initial guess for x x[0] = 10 x[1] = x[0] - f(x[0])/f'(x[0]) = 10 - 10/20 = 9.5 x[2] = x[1] -...

The actual marks matter too.. suppose there's a class of 3 and you are 2nd, Then there's a big difference between: 90,85 and 40 AND 90, 45 and 40 When people say internal assessment marks do not matter, they mean for example a class with: 90 85 40 is same as a class with 80 75 and 30 which is...

    economics a reject of commerce?

economists = wannabe mathematicians. Have a look at the famous economists and nobel prize winners. as with the difference between B.Comm B.Eco at UNSW, whilst there are definitely some people who prefer B.Eco over B.Com, there's usually some truth in these rumours
