    Physics

That's because now only General Maths is needed in Physics. I don't think there is any calculus within Physics anymore :(

LOL, well she's bound to realise sometime... Especially next year - because our extension class is going to be really small (because so many people are dropping - under my lead :p) and she'll be able to focus more on your work.

worst/best english novel you have ever read in school?

Yeah - it was an optional supp text for our class in Year 10 - heard it was a good book. Why did I choose 'Lord of the Flies' over that? :(

Things to do during holidays between end of Year 11 and start of Year 12

Re: (‮‮( Re: Things to do during holidays between end of Year 11 and start of Year 12 Woo! Party! Can I come? :p Yeah that's what I'm planning to do - just revise over maths (because I have my HSC in a few weeks after the holidays) and also just relax, go out a bit, and waste heaps of time...

    what do i drop??????

Keep Physics - 3 sciences can actually be very beneficial - as with Ancient - there's a lot of content to remember and it'll be hard to remember stuff - if you're not interested in it - and with History - if you don't remember something - you're stuffed.

    Does year 11 matter?

Put it this way - your preliminary certificate will only list the subjects you sat - no marks are recorded, so your performance in Year 11 will count for squat. I mean like I completed my prelim in 3 weeks for maths - without any assessment, and the school just told the Board of Studies I've...

Units for Impulse are just N s Generally it's not too difficult to remember units... I almost forgot momentum, however since we all know momentum is mass x veloctiy - you can easily work out that momentum = kgm/s You can do that with almost all units.

Arrghh... Shakespeare is the worst for English - I hate shakespeare. Especially Othello... grown man crying over a hankerchief... prff I mean come on. And with the introductions - wouldn't they be repetitive, I mean personally I'd mark you down for that :p

    chem or bio?

Oh lol. Our Mr Clark was really old, and also treated us like we were in Year 7 :p Anyway, Anyway personally I disagree with this - I mean you can always do a bridging course - and you should be able to grasp it - I think it's better to do something you'll do good in, maximise your UAI - but...

    Anyone do Extension English?

1984 was an optional supp text for us in Year 10 - heard it's a really good book :p

    Subject choices for yr12

That really depends on the performance of each subject. Getting a 90 in any subject would be highly beneficial - so if you can guarantee a 90 in Drama - then I'd just stick to drama.

LOL - talking to all the extension guys, they didn't enjoy the nature of evil either - looks like you're on your own Andy :p

    Physics

I wouldn't cram for physics. Just learn how to USE your formulas and complete practise questions - that was my biggest mistake in my prelims - not doing enough prac qs. Also REMEMBER YOUR UNITS!

What should i do? (re: maths)

Yeah a Band 5 would still positively contribute to your UAI - just not as positively as a Band 6 would :p

I've heard from a lot of people that Extension English is more interesting than advanced... wasn't the case for me. Probably because of a poor module choice by my school.

That's a good idea - I might add collecting texts for belonging onto my list. :p

    sor essay questions!!!!

Thanks Man! Really good info! Also, do we need to know the texts in depth, or do we just have to identify them? Also do they focus mainly on Mahayana and Theravada only - or different texts as well? Again Thanks man.

    2008 Preliminary Roll Call

Welcome Are you actually in our year group - because it says 2010. Anyway - 10 units would be a bit risky wouldn;t it - I mean I'd take 5 subjects into the HSC because seeing as you've already done 2 units... having 12 units for your HSC won't be so bad.

    Looking forward to year 12?

Let's hope so. Otherwise I'd be stuffed for the HSC.
