    Islamabad 7.6 Earthquake

I find it very sad that despite the fact that this earthquake has so far killed as many people as 9/11, the US won't seek justice for those killed by declaring war on the Earth. No wait. More seriously... with natural disasters like this, you wonder why we all can't stop blowing each...

    how does sam work?

Not necessarily. If you rank 13/20 in your assessments, and 3/20 for the exam, the mark that is taken by the UAC to calculate your UAI will be lower than your exam mark, since they take the average moderated marks. I_F

    Organised.

I'll probably have a folder for each subject, with each folder containing looseleaf paper, plastic sheets, a workbook, and whatnot. Hmmm... I better go get those books, actually... I_F

anti wants a new computer - details inside

What difference does it make? Its a while off anyway. And more than 1gigabyte is NOT needed for glass enabled. Even winFS can run on one gig. My point was that it was a while off too, I guess I misread who you were quoting. Sorry about that. :p Anyways anti, I hope you've been abke to find...

I beg to differ. "The final release has been pushed back until September or October 2006." Late Q3 at best, more likely Q4. They're really taking their time with this one - it'll be five years since XP when it finally gets here. I_F

    dropping a subject

The only effect it'll have is if you would have done better in that subject than in any other of your top 8 units. If you suck at it and hate it, then feel free to get rid of it. I_F

No, I'm saying that now is not the time to be upgrading for Windows Vista. Your computer will be a generation out of date by the time it actually comes out. I_F

    Really frigging scared

Was there anywhere implied that if you did 10 units, you're stupid? Looked more like the other way round to me, judging from this thread. Doing 12 units may be safer, but that should be no slight to those doing less. If you feel they can do well with less units, go for it. If you want the...

Balance of power will shift to China and India

We owe much to America, so perhaps you should not be so insolent from now on. That just sounds condescending. We're not exactly stupid either. We may owe them some, but we shouldn't be revering them. They have done some pretty crappy things too, I hope you'll remember. I've seen other...

what u mean he doesnt need the RAM. i say minimum anyone should get is 1 gig of ram. afterall new windows will require u to have more then 512 mbs of ram just to work properly, and how far is that away? About a year. This time last year we were drooling over the Pentium Extreme Edition and...

Not really. DDR2's already more expensive than DDR, and if you're not looking to run applications that need the ultra-high-spec components, you may as well buy now. Besides, AMD will most likely only add DDR2 support into its high-end processors, which aren't in your target range. :) I_F

    English Extension 2 Scaling

The best advice I can give is ignore scaling and do as well as you possibly can. Spending your time worrying about scaling will mostly likely not help you get a better UAI. Worrying about something you can change, like your exam mark. The better you do, the less scaling will impact your final...

nope, ddr are 168pin and ddr2 are 175 i think. ddr2 has more pins, and the retainer on the memory stick is positioned differently... plus ddr2 puts out more power, so if u put a ddr stick in, it would fry your stick and probably motherboard too... DDR2 uses 240 pins, and as you said, their...

Hmm part of that statement is wrong...you are right on latency timings but that is only with respect to AMD processors which i guess applies here.... but you cant say DDR Ram is faster than DDR2 Ram as well... I said for the time being, DDR RAM is essentially faster than DDR2 because of the...
