    Economics or Legal Studies

Whilst legal isn't a prequisite for law, i do law now and think that in the beginning legal would of been helpful to me (particularily in Foundations A). I did eco in highschool and have found it to be a huge advantage in first year commerce as well.

    Law?

If your asking whether it is on par academically, with say UNSW etc etc. Then IMO, yes, most definately. The material is practically the same cross most NSW law schools. In fact, UOW is recognised as having quite a challenging LLB, as in even in a combined degree, ur first year has to be...

Climatology and other weather related courses?

Yea, not many 'climatology'/'meteorlogical' degrees out there. Your best bet, as i see uve done, is to choose a physics and/or maths course. Take electives in mathematical modelling, environmental physics, possibly atmospheric chemistry etc etc also a few geological subjects and a unit in...

    unis teach skills over knowledge.

I used way more sources in HSC Eco for instance then i do now. All i ahve to do is memorise and regurgitate the theroy on the lecture notes/text book. No essays, no keeping up with latest trends/figures- just Multiple Choice q on soild theory for eg- The Short Run Keynesian model, the Long Run...

Running a small business during University

Might be easier if u studied commerce or something more related if u have a general interest in business. Otherwise, id prob just concentrate on the med. Once u get qualified, the money will soon make up for it!

Are you only doing physics to get into engineering?

What is the point of leaving calculus out of the HSC Physics course anyway. They should just make HSC Mathematics as a co-requisite (as u learn calculus in this) and any kid that choose general math plus physics, well bad luck. Seems pointless 'half' teaching something, when uni pretty much from...

    Law in University

Agreed. In advanced english, u spend most of your study time cramming shakespeare quotes or quotes from related material. Its ver ymuch about writing speed, memory and linking together ideas. Whilst these skills are good in law, most law exams allow you to bring in material and hence the memory...

    Motivation in Law School

This approach really interests me man. So how much much reading would you say u did a week in first year? By third year, is the reading way way more intense? Youv'e motivated me to go to town haha

    a few questions...

In your honest opinon why are we force to endure the painful readings of HLA Heart, Ronald Dworkin and the like. Who really cares about what 'law' is? Whether it is inextricably linked to nature or whether it stands on its on two feet, affirmed through legislators who hold authority. Who cares...

Business Studies vs Economics (if you had to pick one)

Yea true wen i looked at the way it was in my class; there wasn't many poeple who are 'in between' with their understanding as this is generally impossible, due to the overlap of knowledge related in every topic. What I mean by this is that in economics, there is one answer generally in...

Business Studies vs Economics (if you had to pick one)

hmm to an extent id agree, particuarly with the gloabisation topic but once u hit eco issues such as growth and considered the Short Run Keynesian model ie the multiplier that is a hugely theoretical concept which makes numerous hypothetical assumptions!

Business Studies vs Economics (if you had to pick one)

well yea...i did micro first session of uni and to brieze over sme concepts i ended up taking out the prelim text as tat was wear a bulk of the foundations were laid. I mean its not lik it gets into any great detail with cost-benefit analysis or anything but still, i loved that intial theory...

Business Studies vs Economics (if you had to pick one)

lol the prelim course was easier by far! It practically assumed a closed economy!

Business Studies vs Economics (if you had to pick one)

Maybe the OP could be a little more specific as to what their interests/career ambitions/future study plans are? Are you interested in running your own business? The preparation of financial statements and some general accounting/sales type theory or are you more interested in the economy as a...
