    Law degree workload

I believe the words top tier were used. If a couple of passes ruled you out of getting a job 90% of law graduates would be unemployed.

    Law degree workload

I doubt that a few passes would rule you out of top tier, unless they were all in subjects like contract and property. A D average, honours and some nice marks in the aforementioned subjects will get you an interview, but marks can only get you so far....

    LAW at ANU or UNSW??

    1. ANU is a rural university 2. ANU doesn't offer DFEE places 3. ANU sets their own UAIs, so sometimes a course will be under enrolled, sometimes it will be over enrolled. UAIs at ANU aren't representative of demand at all.

    LAW at ANU or UNSW??

There is an exchange to Oxford, but obviously it's fairly exclusive. I'm pretty sure that they only release one or two offers each year. I know that in the arts degree there is an internship offered at Congress in the United States. And uber, If I were you and was particularly keen on UNSW I'd...

    How did you get in?

Not at a large firm in NSW or VIC because they run a summer clerkship program which generally only takes students in their last year of study. However, it's possible to get work at suburban or medium sized law firms

    LAW at ANU or UNSW??

Nono, I meant that the books are never there when I need them back at ANU, but the UNSW library always has everything I need. I was insuating that noone ever uses the UNSW law library. Borrowing rights at ANU are stupid, by just working at a college bar you get near unlimited borrowing...

Uni Entry System about to Collapse (SMH) - (re: UNSW)

Heh, I'm not suprised. As I said last night, it's not suprising that UNSW would try to inflate their cut off considering how low it was last year.

    LAW at ANU or UNSW??

Whenever we have an assignment due after a holiday I always end up studying at UNSW's law library. Some silly Phd student or staff member has always borrowed the book I need (along with like 50 others) and only returns it (after I've put a hold on it) once my assignment is done!

    How did you get in?

I barely scraped the 90's thanks to getting below 70 in two HSC subjects. I still got my UNSW law offer after my first year too.

    LAW at ANU or UNSW??

UNSW is just as good as Usyd for law. Also, cutoffs at ANU are always a little weird because the university sets them as opposed to them being dictated by supply and demand. Oh, and I really don't rate ANU's law building. While it's quite nice on the inside it looks like a mansion set on a rural...

    How did you get in?

What was your UAI? A friend of mine with a UAI ~97 and a low credit average managed to transfer to HECS law at UNSW from ANU law. Transferring is not difficult, but as previous posters have said UNSW and Usyd aren't the be all and end all. ANU, Monash and UQ are all good interstate universities...

    LAW at ANU or UNSW??

Just make your decision based upon where you'd prefer to live, both universities have good law faculties. Besides, law degrees are fairly generic across the board (though I can't speak for commerce). In regards to ANU, If you live outside of Canberra and plan on staying in college there is a...

    Commerce @ USYD = OMGWTFBBQ

I wonder if UNSW increased their DFEE intake for commerce. I'm sure they were quite annoyed at the UAI going down to 90 odd last year.

    Offers for 07 new students!

Alas, when I first took up the law I thought that women would be unable to resist me. However, I soon found out that "What's up, I do arts/law" isn't a very good pick-up line since women generally throw back something along the lines of "Get back to me in 10 years when you have money".

    Offers for 07 new students!

Every college is on campus except Fenner. If it's any consolation Ursies is the closest college to the law faculty so by not getting into Bruce you've saved yourself a whole two minutes of walking each day.

    5 bonus points

College internet prices, rising college fees, rising prices for parking permits, poor security around the colleges... In defence of the ANU they did alot of things right though, particularly in regards to rising HECS fees.
