Chance of achieving Hawkins scholarship or getting into law

The only thing that you can do is wait and see. Only 3 of 6 scholarships were awarded to students at the ANU last year and knowing one of these people personally I can say that the bar is set pretty damned high. Also, AS I'VE SAID IN THE OTHER THREAD EAS gives you 5 bonus points. Your friend...

    Law: UAI

You have a 45.680709% chance. Seriously though, it was over 96. Cross your fingers and good luck! Keep in mind that with your UAI a transfer wouldn't be too difficult. I know people who've even transferred into law in their second semester of first year (I don't know how that works though).

    Exam Results - Implications

International law is possibly the funniest law subject I've done so far. In previous years assignment BOOKLETS have been over 50 pages, and each problem scenario in the exam itself was about 5 pages long!

An alternative choice - UWS Law

Re: If you want to do law / think you might not get in Seriously Frigid, did this thread deserve a reply? Personally I think that the content of law degrees is fairly generic across the board, with very few notable exceptions. However, as Frigid pointed out it's fairly misleading to say that...

what are my chances in undergrad law?

Dude, as I said before: it's a flat 5 points. This applies to any degree barring Phb or the Hons courses. They lied to you! :)

what are my chances in undergrad law?

    1) ANU lists a number of alternate mean of entry in the UAC guide (or at least they used to). These include high marks in English (where your UAI would otherwise not be good enough) and a written submission to the faculty. Over the past two years nobody got into law this way. 2) At ANU EAS will...

Question regarding the required entry requirements

The UAI requirement is the requirement for the degree with the highest cutoff of the two that you want to do. It's a little retarded to think that you should get a discount on the requirement for law because you want to do a combined degree. If you look at cutoffs for Sydney universities they...

    Capitalism or Communism?

Lucky I didn't then. The phrase has been used by alot of people including Churchill.

Misquoting Churchill on an internet forum doesn't make you look intelligent.

    Information on Accommodation

There are buses during the day and there is Brian's bus after hours. You can also use ANU security for transport once Brian's stops running (at around 10-11pm).

    Exam Results - Implications

30-35% D's. If only they did that at ANU... :( From the ANU Law handbook... In light of those considerations, the final assessment results for students in each course (except Honours Thesis and Law Internship) should normally conform to the following guidelines: High Distinction (80% +) 2–5% of...

    Youth Allowance and parental income

I'll start off by saying that the previous posters in this thread are completely wrong. I don't know why people don't read the material released by Centrelink. There are a number of other criteria which can be used by you which will exempt you from the parental income test. Pretty much all of...

    Information on Accommodation

That's true at Bruce, but dinner ends at 7:00. You pay for 21 meals, but nothing is stopping you from going out. They aren't great, but they aren't bad either. Some people cry alot about the food but it's ok, sometimes good and you get lots of it (at Bruce at least).

    Exam Results - Implications

Don't spread those marks around, they won't win you browning points with any ladies in the law faculty.

    ANU nightlife, is there one?

No we don't. Personally I'd love to see the people who do it to wrap their cars around a telegraph pole.

    Vicarious Liability and Contract

I think a quote from an English case (can't recall which) best sums this up - "You can't call a duck a rooster and expect others to treat it as such".
