What makes you think that just because a teacher is in the South-West that they can't get anywhere better? It's probably a smarter move to be in the South West because there is a strong asian presence, and therefore a great opportunity to gain students who want tutoring.
Hey Guys!
I was wondering if anyone on BOS moved to a Selective High School for Year 12 (applying whilst you're in Yr 11). If so, maybe you could share your thoughts on how it was like adjusting, was it better than your old school and is it really worth it for the three terms or so?

There aren't really tricks for mathematics. You just have to understand the formulas, and keep on doing question after question and you should be able to memorise the formula.
Yeah, the teachers overall stop caring once we hit year 11.. however at least a few people get 'arvos' every week and like you cant escape them. however the number of lunch time detentions have dropped heaps.
Fitzpatrick is used by Ruse and heaps of other selective schools (and my school as well)... gotta be good.
My school used to use Coroneous way back, and when I did 2u last year they ran out of Fitzpatrick, so they gave us Coroneous... its a good book, but reallly really old skool... hand drawn...
Re: What is the most important subject?
Well for me it would be maths this year... because its the only thing that actuall counts. But next year, if I do well enough in maths to keep my score then probably English would be the most important subject (because its the only compulsory subject...
Well we still have detentions... lunch time detentions, afternoon detentions, sport detentions, working bees - the lot. That's probably cuz my schools a catholic school.
