u dont need the text book, you'll understand most of the lecture notes on their own, do the tute work and use the book in the library if u need it, thats my opinion anyway

isys123 is very straight forward and probably 1 of the easiest subjects you'll do at uni, you'll have practicals which cover creating databases among other things, choose it :)
